Like I just unlocked new compute stuff and put all my focus into it, and its still multiple months before I can level anything. Like that seems like an insurmountable wall to me.
Also I think massive warp should be the next unlock, but you really won't be spending much time here anyway before you reach the 1st reinforce point.
But basically what I do for the most part is farm shard -> full focus on whatever that shard boosts. Or if prestige unlocks something new, like massive warp for instance, then I focus on that. Note full focus doesn't count for something like salvage or battle, those are just stuff you use. Also note that if it takes more than a night at this point, you should look into focusing on something else instead.
But digging through my memory, what you need to hit your first reinforce is probably fixtures, synth and warp. In that order after getting a couple spec points from compute.
Take care leaving synth overnight at this point, check that your income for the materials needed is actually more than what synth consumes, otherwise leave it on fixtures.
Edit: As for combat loadouts, like what guns and all that, I just kept using the same one, beam laser, disruptor, charge laser, 3x laser cannon. I really should look into something new, I've been using the same thing for the last 4 or 5 reinforces now.
What are you dieing to in 75? It should be essentialy automatic to be able to stay in the start of 75 against the capital.
You just do the same thing you did before, just you need to judge for yourself what your focus should be. But the loadouts for the thing you're focusing on remains the same, since you haven't yet unlocked any actually new stuff.
Well, you likely have a few points in each of the things in the post 74 compute tab right? Like everything else, something will come along that cuts the wait time down. When the time becomes insurmountable you need to move on to the next system.
But, before you give up on the game entirely, see what you can do about the normal ships killing you. Have you equipped the right "normal ships" hull for the situation? What about your weapons, done anything silly there? Are they all t4? t5 (I think that's where they should be)? Are you using your battle shard? Modules from synth for buff to damage and shields are basically mandatory, so if you've turned them off, turn them on. What about synth, maybe you're close to a new tier of synth and would get additional buffs from modules?
And don't worry about feeling a bit lost without guides. Most of the advice you've taken is still relevant. You still need to cycle through and focus on the mechanics one by one to make sure you've gotten everything out of it.
You can ignore the next bit if you like, but it's just me thinking out loud about how I handle a prestige reset.
1. I have just done a prestige reset.
2. Focus salvage and compute, usually in that order. (later in the game, you can do both at the same time.) I usually let it do its thing for about 30 minutes to an hour.
3. Pick a mechanic and do something about it. Synth, Reactor, Warp, Crew, Research.
4. Pick one of the ones I didn't pick already and do something about it, continue and repeat with the rest of these.
5. If I enter a new sector on my prestige I will usually investigate the v-shards situation, and try and max whatever new shard I have encountered. This goes much more quickly when you've done a couple of reinforces.
6. I always finish up a prestige with a quick focus on the bases. First I focus non-component parts, then components.
7. I also check how many bio sleeves I have and how many sleeves I am from increasing my mastery of the crew members. Sometimes it's worth prolonging a prestige to squeeze out the mastery on a crew member if you're close to the sleeves required.
8. After I have driven myself crazy wondering if I have missed something specific that I will lose if I don't do it before a prestige, i will prestige and repeat this process, usually with some kind of forward success.
Disclaimer: I'm a much, much slower player than a lot of people here. I don't do things efficiently, waste potential all the time, goof things up. Above might not be the right way to play, but it's how I've made it reinforce 4, engaging with the new content, so it is a viable strategy.
If you're worried about making changes in the game, remember you can save scum most of your decisions with the backup save button. Want to do something drastic and see how it affects your game without committing to it?
Make a backup save.
Make your changes.
Make an additional back up save.
Use a 6 hour time skip or two to see what your changes mean for you 12 hours down the line.
Happy with the result? Load the second back up when you just made the changes, now you keep your 6 hour time skips. Didn't like what you saw in your new timeline? Load the original back-up like nothing happened at all.
Don't be afraid to experiment and shed the crutches of a guide.
EDIT: Changed my text to reflect RaptorSolutions advice about t4 weapons.
