Burst fire
Does shot scaling count each shot during a shot separately?

Does the charge time start at the end of the first shot, or the last?

Does fire rate include the number of shots per shot, or just the number of shots?

I feel like calling it shots per burst would be more clear.

I think that simplifying it to cycle for all capital weapons would avoid even more confusion.

It is difficult to keep things straight when two variables share the same name.

Also, there is no indicator of the delay between shots per shot, or how that influences fire rate.

ive often wondered about burst fire and shot scaling myself.
with similar setups the default cannon seems to do more dps but you will end up sticking with burst anyway even end game because of the ships that spawn with the barriers (a light film around the whole ship) that negates shots

Yes. That's why the shot scaling bonuses on the burst fire weapons is much smaller than on the single-shot ones.

I'd say after the last one. It doesn't matter much though, the delay is minimal.

Fire Rate speeds up the time from first to last shot. It doesn't increase the number of shots.

That's what burst fire is. Only burst fire increases the number of shots per volley.
