what best use of deflection shield?

hi,

i unlock defelction shield and are unsure, what are the best use of it?
1 normal shield and two deflection shield or 2 to 1? and do i need the upgrade for good use or i can use it immediately?

i personally use 2 deflectors because when advancing with the reactor engine speedup there are times where the enemy waves come too quickly for a single deflector to recharge, but this is double-edged in that it means i have less standing shield to defend normal attacks

When you get that shield, the enemies with big badaboom oneshot missiles appers. So you need deflection to negate these.

You will need at least one after unlocking them. Two is even better in my opinion.
