Sector 70 wall
I feel like I'm missing something. I've hit walls before in the game, but they're usually resolved in a matter of days. I've been at sector 70 for a couple of months now. At this point, there are sometimes multiple days I forget to even open the game.

Is there some breakthrough around 70 I somehow missed? Because my feeling is that this was end-game content at one point so the developer needed to stall people for several months. And once the new content was made, the several months at this point was left in place. Am I wrong?

How is your crew ranks and mastery points ?
Optimized the bases ?

I was on sector 67 5 days ago, and i think i can be done with 74 today, only missing a few warp upgrades.
I did a couple of runs with Researcher, Xeno, Reconstitution for max crew xp, and rotated around the last crew slot to level them, this helped alot.

You've definitely overlooked some thing, that wait isn't right...!

Are your void shards all maxed?
Have you pushed up your research?
Have you done any focus on bases?
Are you keeping up with levelling up your warps and spending the points?
Is your weapons load-out somehow holding you back?

There are a few players who have shared a more comprehensive list of "have you done X" when people are stuck, worth searching one out on the forum.

One thing is for sure, the more you can share about your save the more people can give you specific advice.

Sector 69 was the end sector before 74+ content came out, but it is not an arbitrary wall and was adjusted properly so no worries there.

As Aluvii was pointing out above you should do a full sweep of all your major areas fully specialized with crew/vshard/module setups. there is a issue in one of them as your unsure where your failing point is.
Crew is by far one of the harder ones to understand as people have issues with using the 3rd tier and black abilities early on. the dev has added the little warnings to give people more guidance on them but you still have to have enough levels in crew. i think the first run you should have mastery 2 on all your crew before reaching sector 74+ if your not there already.
There are already some crew threads that go into detail as it takes a long time to go into detail i'll highlight the important parts for the crew setups.
-Early on pick ONE type of stat to raise, turn off auto switcher, ensure all other stats are at zero to prevent wasting bio sleeves to reset them. (if you fail at this your losing 1 or 2 large multipliers in the 3rd tier)
- equally distribute points to all of a single type of modifier (synth, energy, warp, xp, compute, base, salvage, void, research, etc). you can adjust them slightly to ones with significantly larger modifiers but in general try and keep them even until your used to it.
---Read the black 3rd tier skills before you just add a point, they have huge negatives and could cut your gains by more then 1/2 if you click the wrong one----
-adjust vshard/modules/utilities as needed to assist (usually you want your core stuff done first if you planned this out)
---3rd tier abilities will basically give no bonuses if the conflicting stat is >0 depending on the crew member, this will look odd as 2 of your crew will only have secondary stats to gain rank levels---

Ok, that would take a few prestige's to work out but 100% should fix almost any issue you are having. there are also threads on how to use your mastery points to upgrade. but in general get the biosleeve/crew xp/crew member slot then something like warp/base as priorities as you will need those for the sector 74 "quest".

Next silly question, are you using correct weapons for the barriers? are they all the highest tier you can use and level? generally i use a single gat laser with all the speed/range options and target priority barrier, 2nd highest hp, change target and allow overlap the gat can even be tier 1 as its just there for barriers. just one will melt them off if this is giving you an issue.

Are you doing a proper salvage/void run to upgrade your crew, core, compute at the start of a prestige? are you doing a 2-12 hour compute run after? those are easily overlooked but they will let you high higher crew bonuses and stat levels for the rest of the prestige. compute at your sector level can overpower literally everything even if your using the wrong weapon combos it might just take an extra day. make sure your using the level bonus vshard/synth module/crew 3rd black skill. you will have to do this for your sector 74 quest too when you get there.
Are you running every warp to the cap, this is huge for warp essence gains as every difficulty level will give you modifiers for all essence gained as you progress
have you gotten all the upgrades in your base? like unlocking your reactor caps. you will need to max your reactor stuff to level 999 to beat sector 74.
That is a LOT of stuff to go over and 100% should get you where you need. I would start with crew xp run to raise stats and mastery 2 on ALL crew first, as that can take 5-10 prestiges if you haven't already done it.

--- List to start---
-Crew XP/Mastery 2
-Base push with prestige to top it
-Warp push (you can get timers down to <2min easy)
-Research push
-Synth/Reactor push (these tie in pretty heavy and you will need to cycle back to research)

Well give some updates or more info if you want help. generally there are a lot of us that will add in our 2 cents.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback. If I had to pick one thing, I'm going to guess it's my module load-out. I have actually pushed into sector 71, but left idle I always get driven back to sector 69. That should have been a clue I need to redesign for the purple bubbles.

So anyway, thanks again for the feedback. At least I know it's something I'm doing wrong and not an unnatural game wall. I suppose I should get on the discord and look up the load-out I should be using.

When climbing to 75, you need Continuous Generators because the turrets on the ship will constantly reset the Bulk Generator timer. Just a huge tip.

Or use the shield boost automator if you can find the module room.

dude this is so helpful. I have been smashing my head against 70+for about a month now and I've slowly learned a lot of this, but there was still a lot here I never considered. Thanks.
Yeah, sector 70 was the biggest wall for me there to. Mostly what helped were the proper weapon setting up with proper upgrades AND PROPER TARGETING. Targeting changed there alot. There is nice wiki for this game, where u can find builds etc, and there are builds recommended for those sectors. Between others the one for 70-74 o.o
