There's a small benefit in that you'll get more out of unstable transit if you reinforce to get more FR.
I can understand why it is the way it is, though. The galaxies are designed for progression, while unstable transit is just something to do with fuel for players who've run out of content. If they were really powerful, it would make it harder to balance future content.
Yeah I get that but Silv did express the updates would be way quicker now that fleet was implemented. So I can't imagine we will be sitting at a content wall for long. Especially since the content wall is actually balanced in a way that we can still push a sector or two if we do rush into it.
My hope is things smooth out a bit with said updates. Fleet has been a fun change of pace but it does have a few things atm that feel underwhelming without the full context of what's planned. All my gripes so far have been on wip and nyi making what's available feel odd after reaching them. So I expect that will change. But it does make me question doing certain actions in game such as allowing scrap and void to collect (via keeping the modules equipped occasionally when I don't need others running) in hopes that splicing needs them when it's added or running unstable transit in it's current form.
