I loaded an old save to check this and Synth Speed did not change after upgrading to the Massive Reactor, so it seems to be working correctly at least on my side.
Perhaps you don't have some multiplier active?
Maybe you can temporarily load a pre-massive reactor backup (after making a back-up save of your current state) to compare your synth speed multiplier with your current one on the
Stats & Info -> Synth -> Synth speed
page, which lists a more detailed breakdown of how your Synth Speed is calculated.
To me, the Massive Reactor was quite a QoL feature - I no longer need to worry about my synth, compute, research or other things going down whenever I move/remove the Power or Flex shards.
I apologize... I tried to load and save couple of times and upgrade to Massive Reactor indeed has not affected game progress negatively. I had to overlook something important before.
I won't delete this topic and I have marked your reply as an accepted answer in case someone else will have similar confusing experience. Thank you for your time guys.
