Questions about early Capital Ship
Hi, I have just unlocked Capital Ships thanks to the numerous advices of this group about the task list. Thank you all.

Now I'm discovering the new mechanics of Capital Ships. It's slowly sinking in but I still have a few specific questions.

1) All the damage/Shield boost (Base, reactor, old synth parts and old shards) only affects regular ship damage/shield and not Captital Ship nor Fighter jet ?

1.b) Are regular damage/shield trivial now, the limiter being Capital Ship damage/shield ? Or both remain important ?

2) What is OOM of Total Captial ? The number of times I have disabled the enemy Capital Ship with mine ? the number of Parts my Figter jet destroyed ?

3) Is Salvage Redirection (Cyber Specialist Capstone) affecting the Fighter jet research ? Or is it just nerfing my salvage production now that old computer cap are set to 1e22 ?

4) Are Pulverium and Fortifium considered salvages ?

I will certainly discover many other points and pondering subject farther but if you could clarify these, it would put my mind at ease.

1a. yes capital is it's own thing in stats, crafting, warp, bases and such. you'll be hunting for multipliers like crazy

1b, No, if the small ones recks your shield you go back, if the big ship recks your shield you go back. But yes later small stuff gets phased out but that's way late game. it's a balancing act all the way.

2. just means you get a bonus every 10-100 and 1000's

3, kinda. but also not your computer is leveling your figters. And you want that level. yet at crew 720 all negitave effects on cap stones get's cancled

4 , yes? but only used of crafting and core stuff

OOM = order of magnitude. That is, it looks at the log10 of enemy capital disables. "Disabling" a capital ship means taking it to 0 hull with your big laser cannon.

Bonuses to compute speed continue to apply to the new compute, but the Salvage Redirection stops being useful: the levels start getting more expensive, so it's only at the very start of a prestige that you even hit the level/s cap.

Bonuses to salvage do not affect pulverium/fortifium drops.

Just to clarify a bit further:
1) Once in the capital stage, you have C. Damage/Shields (or Capital Damage / Capital Shields) and S. Damage/Shields (Standard Damage / Standard Shields, or, as I like to think about them, Small Damage/Shields).
Only stuff that explicitly states C. Damage/Shields, or C. Battle Stats and the like count for your Capital Damage and Shields, all S./Standard, or just "x2 Damage" only counts for your Small Battle Stats (for example your Battle Shard or Damage Target Shard).

1b) You'll need both sufficient C. Battle and S. Battle stats in order to progress, there will be phases where S. Battle will be trivial while you're waiting for more C. Battle and Vice Versa, you S. Turret Loadout will still be important for some stages.

3) Salvage Redirection is all but useless at this point.

4) Fortifium/Pulverium are not salvage, they will have their own multipliers when you advance a bit. Note that you can set the target for your fighters to focus on the enemy weapon for Pulverium or Shields for Fortifium, either by setting the target in the core screen, or simply right clicking the according Health Bar in the combat screen. Right Clicking on the general ship health resets the focus target again.
Be careful with the focus targetting, if your part destruction is slow (which it will be in the beginning), it could happen that your fighters basically only destroy one part over and over, crippling your income of the other. Generally you'll want a balanced income for your cores, but especially certain Synth recipes require loads of one. It's normal that in the beginning of the capital stage your synth progress is regulary halted because you lack Pulverium/Fortifium.
With your guidance, I reached sector 78, unlocking more warps, more crew upgrades, fighters computer boost and more synth craft. I dipped my toes in each and every but they are rather tall fences, requiring dedicated retrofit and crew.
I also unlocked a preview of prestige+ available at sector 80.

Am I correct in thinking that I can't reach more than a few steps into each of these new unlocks and should sprint for sector 80 to prestige+ as soon as possible ?
I know that completing sector 78 and 79 will take some time but I can't figure if it's a matter of days or weeks.
Yeah. If you can push for a new r+ sector, you should go for that asap.
No use in wasting time on stuff that makes you stronger in the long run, if a short burst will get you there anyway.

This. The goal is to get to reinforce as fast as possible, barely scraping by to kill the boss and then reinforce immediately. The only thing that is worth finishing before reinforcing are completing void shards that are close to being completed. Don't bother with shards that are less than half completed, you'll get a big boost to shard chance and drop amount after reinforcing, but if one is almost done, it's worth it to spend an hour or two to finish it, since you'll gain a massive boost in drop rate for those, so you'll almost instantly complete them after the reinforce.

Reinforce as fast as you can. The only exception is to finish shards if they don't too long. At reinforce 5 you can get from the start to sector 100 in under 12 hours of lazy gameplay. Even at R1 you will see the difference in speed
I did it. Thanks to your advices (and the crew upgrade that neutralize perks divider).

Buzzing through the early sector, trying to prestige as few a possible and wrap my head around what is important and what can be done later. It's fun.

I still had one question about shard. One of the Reinforce perk is a bonus to reaquire any shard previously maxed.
1) In the initial run from 75 to 80, I couldn't max all shards in a reasonable time, some being too scarce. I guess that's work for R1
2) In this R1, I'm zooming so fast that I didn't max several Green or Blue Shard (mostly because no taking every alternate sector) Will this impact my R2 or is the unlock from R0 enough ?

Enjoy the day

The "previously completed" means ever completed; it's not limited to just the previous reinforce. In other words, maxing a shard once will permanently increase its drop amount in all future reinforces.
