Charging 1st Key Shard question

It says that All stats from Void Shards will be inactive during the time that it charges. Does this mean that I'll have to go back like 3 sectors in order to kill things? Or that I just can't change the slots around while it's charging?

The wiki made it sound like the changing slots around, but this warning seems like the stats won't work. Anyone know for sure how it works?

Yup, it'll push you back or you can reverse yourself. You lose access to all shards for a brief time while you unlock it. I think it set me back 2 sectors or so. Not a big deal.

the wiki did say "While the shard is charging, all shard effects and drops are disabled."
