Question on upgraded reactor

Hi there. I just got unlocked the mega reactor in sector 82 or 83. Trying to understand the point of max void power and generation under the new system. The "high the better" bonus under the old reactor seems to be gone and I dont seem to need any further generation.

What is the point of unlocking the upgrades in the new grid. I am missing something?

you can spend vp to upgrade overdrive charging speed

Basicly:
Max VP = higher charge speed potential
VP Gen = how long it takes to reach your potential

You still need to level them equally though. When you get everything maxed though looks like it takes about 1-2min to fully charge your full VP. when your using your active charges on your reactor this will become much more important as the time is so limited with the higher max that you can only cap one or 2 overdrives to your max potential. For instance i have 3 hour charge times on my Reactor overdrive so i don't get many active charges so i had to pick the 4 best ones and 2 others to keep capped while the other got some charge speed boosts.

EDIT: This is only about a 10% speed difference so not that huge a deal unless your working on T10 ODs.

Yes VP max/gen is still important, but now you don't need it constantly running until your doing a upgrade session with your reactor.
