I just want ++ on this. I think the big 'secret' of why this game is so amazing is precisely because your big picture strategic choices matter. In most idle games, including FAPI, the only real strategy quickly becomes stuff like 'are you willing to go back in every 2 hours and manually prestige to hit the optimal resource gain rate - until the end of time?'
But here you can focus on synth, reactor, or whatever else - and have a very different experience, but still viable, than another player. This is also where sector 75+ falls off because there's really only one path forward, and it ends up becoming like other idle games - where it's just a waiting game, with some slight variation dependent upon interactivity rate. But the recent announcement over a rebalance in this domain seems really promising.
The only thing I can think of that's comparable to this game would be Forager, but it's more like a "normal" game with heavy idle elements, rather than being an idle game per se. Highly recommended in any case.
I'll give it a go; thanks!
