You can alwas manualy save and try challange how far you get.
Using right weapons/shield might be also tricky, i think most of challanges that dont drop salvage and you cant upgrade were best with gatling lasers and continuos shield, but you may again use manual save and try various builds thru "free" retroships.
If you are desperate people are happy to answer the question directly in the discord based on their experience.
what sector are you on? I know people have missed the fact that you need to build components in base one to get the boost (but I suspect your past that if have challenges). Also there is a unfortunately large wall around sector 20 if that's where you're at. Have to grind up your synth and research a bit.
Locking this information behind discord verification process isn't constructive.
Also I don't even know what a discord guest is, Is that like you don't have an account setup But you can still actually access some stuff on discord?
I could ask people that have written various snippets or guides on things to Post it here on the forums or into team guides too, but its up to them really.
Power Hungry is straightforward: Is your maximum void power enough to tank few hits from the boss you're supposed to defeat?
Synth Purity should be doable when you're done with a synth tier (although it may take a few hours to fully build modules and then stockpile a fair bit of every material).
Core Computing is a lot trickier. 1.25 Cap, 4 Cap, 1.25 Cap+, 4 Cap+ and so on are probably good milestones.
Last time I checked the game discord required an account which I can't get at this point in time (and probably for the foreseeable future).
Most of the times reading what other people asked is helpful enough even if I can't ask myself so "read access" will solve this part of the problem.
Regarding posting the guides here, I'm sure it'll help a lot more players other than me.
Steam guides section is fairly used in most games I'm familiar with.
Thank you.
Thankfully it was posted in the wiki as well so I was able to read it and enjoy the knowledge :)
Awesome tip - thank you very much!
Are you referring to "the same tier"?
As in if you completed T2 than you can do challenge 2?
Currently, using the modules and void devices I'm capping the 1.1 cap+cap+.
Which computer level challenge do you think I should be able to complete relatively quickly with this?
P.S.
What is your recommended weapon setup for each of those challenges?
I will see about getting guides posted on steam more.
So one per tier starting from T2.
You're definitly ahead of me here but I imagine that the third one should be easy and the fourth may be worth a try.
Core Computing: Your usual setup. The most common (for lasers) being X Beams/2 Laser Cannons. Depending of the amount of salvage you can gather T1 weapons may be better than T2.
Synth Purity & Base Carry:
No salvage means no active buffs and no support node. I usually start with 1 Beam/X Gatling and would switch to full gatling/kinetic for the final push. And without Shield Boost, Continuouss Generator may offer you few seconds of survivability over the Bulk Generator.
Power Hungry:
With 4 or more weapon slots, full gatling set up to support/fire rate (as damage nodes don't work in that challenge). With only 3 slots 1 gatling, 2 laser cannons I imagine.
The first two shields have the exact same behaviour in that challenge.
T1 weapons obviously: that won't affect their damage but it will be easier to grab the nodes.
Despite no beam laser, 100% regen bosses shouldn't be an issue. If you have enough damage to finish the challenge, you should have more than enough damage to one shot those few bosses along the way.
@Huillam thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
it's very helpful and informative.
Challenges:
Core computing:
1x beam laser + rest laser cannons. Laser cannons on supportive routing + boosts + shield bonus, beam laser on mass focuser and damage.
Core 1: immediately
Core 2-3: Cruiser with lvl 95 beam laser, 2x lvl 80 laser cannon support
Core 4-5: Heavy cruiser with lvl 110 beam laser, 3x laser cannon support (may need improved tracking)
Core 6: Destroyer with lvl 110 beam laser, 5x laser cannon support
Core 7-8: can be done with compute crew (?)
Core 9: can be done with 2nd mastery compute crew (?)
Synth challenge:
Max gatlings, later disruption charges.
Max damage/shield modules as far as reasonable, then imbued alloy-> imbued circuitry -> pristine sensors if available.
More synth damage/shield upgrades help.
Synth 1: max T2
Synth 2: max T3
Synth 3: fourth synth slot
Synth 4: 2E10 synth speed (without synth util) (2E11 with synth util)
Synth 5: synth crew mastery (?)
Power Hungry:
Remember you can spend salvage! Lvl 1 or 2 Gatlings -> Disruption. A max gatling setup is about 10x max VP in damage, then compare damage to sector enemies. Utilize void energy boost to sustain through boss damage.
Power 1: reactor utility unlocked
Power 2: warp VP max MK2 maxed, aim for e12 max VP
Power 3: warp VP max MK3 maxed, aim for e15 max VP
Power 4: warp VP max MK4 maxed, aim for e22 max VP
Power 5: reactor crew mastery (?)
Personally I'm having hard time completing some of those challenges with the recommended loadout but maybe it is because I used the wrong shield setup :(
Continuos shield is best in challanges with no salvage. And gatling lasers (only synth 5 needed bombs cuz there are snipers in last zones). Anyway, you can retrofit during challange.
And "recomended" crew masteries are imho trap. Warp mastery is MUCH better than synth or reactor masteries as it lets you simply get warp upgrades in both fields to do challange, and computing challanges arnt even that good, you max out computing without last lvls.
