It ate my save?

Hey! Just letting you know chubigans. Was playing earlier today, and had 7-8 days left till I became a 2 star business. Took a break to try and get Legends of Eisenwald working, restarted Steam, and now my game is back to where it was when I went to bed last night/last turned off my PC.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the Steam save data not saving correctly/caching correctly or something, since it should have updated the machine save data as well. Instead, as soon as I restarted Steam a second time, it pulled from the Steam data, which said I was back where I was this morning, and wrote over my actual on PC data.

Gah, really sorry to hear that. That is very odd since Steam should have made sure older files files don't overwrite new ones. I'll check it out and see what could be messing up.

Ok, here's what I'm going to do for the patch: add a new "Backups" section that saves data but doesn't push it to the cloud. That way you always have a physical backup when Steam Cloud gets screwy.

Lost my data this same way. 30 hours down the Jon. I don't really want to play this anymore...

Have you tried using the Restore Saves feature? There's no reason why it shouldn't be there. Just be sure NOT to start a new save in the slot you lost your previous save.

I lost my save too, hadn't opened my game at all since all the 'big' updates. 51 hours just went poof! :( Restore didn't do a thing, no message, nothin'. I don't mind it though since I was a full stars restaurant and it became boring and hard mode was waaay too hard for my taste. So it's cool starting anew. What does annoy me is the food served numbers for the 'grind' achievements, like the serve 2500 whatever; I hadn't finished them all and was really close to it. And these got reset too! Arg.
I still love the game though :D

Aw man, sorry to hear that. If you're only using one computer I definitely recommend turning off Steam Cloud saves, which is done by right clicking CSD in your Steam library. That's usually the cause of save corruption. But glad you're still back in the game!
