Progressive slow-down during play
Hello. Title says it all, really. I've done a bit of googling, but not found anything.

Basically, what's happening, is that as I'm playing, the game slows down. At the start of a day, the controls are crisp and react to my presses - time passes about an in-game minute per second. As the day passes, however, the seconds slow down, controls get more unresponsive and the game ends up being a sloggy, unplayable mess. The last part of the day uses about 5 seconds per in-game minute, and controls are very unreliable.

Using Windows 7. I've updated my software. I'm running the game through steam. I've tried both fullscreened and windowed, with the same effect. I've tried disabling everything else of running programs, to no help. I've cleared up my hard drives to give extra swapdisk space, to no effect.

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? It's quite dissapointing, as the game is really enjoyable for the first three to five in-game-hours, but after that, it's just far too slow and unresponsive to be playable.

This seems to be an issue for a small segment of users. Some have found a solution in updating their graphics drivers. I'd also recommend trying the integratedgraphics build. Let me know how that fares.

I did a purge and reinstall of my graphics card, and that seem to have done the trick. I've recently had problems with the GeForce install program package thingymabob (GeForce Experience?), so now I disabled it completely, and then manually installed the appropriate driver for my card. This might have been some of the help - if others are using it, removing this might be a solution.

Thanks for the update, I'll definitely let others know that have the same problem!

I'm having this problem too. I reinstalled my graphics card driver and that seemed to help at first. But by the end of the first day, I noticed an FPS drop and day 2 was unplayable for me. Is there anything else to try?

This is happening to me as well. Hopefully updating my nividia drivers helps, if thats what the problem is... seems strange though that I can play Bioshock Infinite on high graphics but on this game im getting all this lag.

Well i manually installed my drivers, and ive noticed the same problem persists. Are there any fixes? Ive also played in the integratedgraphics build and it starts out really fast, but a considerable slow down is noticed on the next day and on.

I'm hoping a new beta build might help things that I'll be releasing next week. Sorry for the delay y'all. :(

I just wanted to say that the day after I posted here the game seems to have fixed itself. All I did was reintall the driver that first day, which I thought hadn't worked. So, I don't know what happened.

Well that's great news! :D

I just bought this today in the flash sale. Had the same problems as above. I have reinstalled all my graphics drivers, tried out the integratted graphics beta (even though apparently these problems have already been fixed) and I still have the problem :( Any news on when this is getting fixed?

It's a very strange error that's mostly up to the GM Studio devs to fix, unfortunately. But I will have a new beta build to try and solve this problem by early next week.

Brilliant, thank you for responding

This is still broken for me using Win 7 64, i7, AMD Radeon HD 6950, Catalyst 13.12 (brand new), fullscreen and windowed, beta build and normal build, forced and optional driver AA/AF/vsync etc.

Works fine on an old Win 7 laptop with integrated graphics, though.

Needs fixing.

Hey Brissles, do you mind giving this guide a quick read and see if it helps solve the problem?

Hey chub, none of the 5 bullet points summarised in the guide helped me. The problem also persisted both with and without High Rendering and in-game AA/rush hour splash screens.

I've also disabled Steam overlay for this game, and tried setting processor affinity for the CSDSteamBuild.exe to just one core (this has been a problem with some older games running on i7s before), but the problem still persists.
