I would advise just getting more familiar with all the key bindings. It is a lot at first but once you have it memorized the game becomes a lot more fun. I've played a lot of restuarant sims and no others can come close to this game. If you're having trouble learning the key bindings, start a new game so it's slow again for you. And also the practice mode helps a lot with learning it all. Good luck and happy cooking!

ashmic asked for cooking games more slower paced, not for you to tell them why they should keep playing this game. be helpful if you're going to post. as for the topic, I don't know, maybe try out the 'Papa's x-eria' games, they're not too fast and they're pretty good with the whole food thing.

thank you : ]
It might be nice to have a difficulty/pace slider in the upcoming CSD 2.

you could try Cooking Academy..

This is an accessibility issue: game difficulty and speed should always be up to modifications so more people can play. Same with contrasts, sounds, etc…
Cooking Academy is fun, and outside Steam, there are lots of cooking sim, but most of them are clickers.

Try Cooking Dash or Cake Mania. I played those before this and they were slower paced. No key bindings tho, which is kind of a bummer, but it's pretty close to what you're looking I think.

Cake mania is pretty good

There's a great game on Wii and PS3 which uses the motion controls called "Order Up!".
Don't mistake it for a Cooking mama clone. It's much better than that.
More slower paced and methodical.
It requires you to learn what your individual customers like and don't like (for example, sweet tooth likes sugar in EVERYTHING) and each stage of cooking is handled a bit more like a minigame. You also get to hire employees as you need to manage several orders and cooking stations at a time and they can be a lot of help. However, employees are entirely optional, but without them you're gonna have a tough time.
In conclusion, it's quite a bit different from CSD but a great alternative restaurant management game.
Ignore the Nickelodeon-esque visuals and you might have a great time as I had with it.
It's easier than CSD but a bit deceptively hard later on in the game as your restaurant grows.

Too bad it's not on PC though...

Yeah the Papa games are amazing to play not only that but they are free (at least the versions I play) and there are many versions of them. There is also an android (and amazon/maybe iphone) game you might like I believe by the name of star chef? OH and check out the cooking/time management games on shockwave they have many different options
