Prophetess can't see Genie's Spells on another player

Currently playing as the prophetess and I can't see the spells that the Theif's Genie currently has, while I can see the Thief's Barrier spell. Is this a bug or intentional gameplay?

Edit: This has really just screwed me over now. I attacked the thief using a few spells to boost my strength (Energise plus Psionic Blast) won the battle, took his Sword of Light, and then the Theif used Aquisition which had to be one of the Genie's spells and stole it straight back, the fact I had to ditch the Holy Lance in order to actually attain the Sword of Light only makes the pill all the more bitter.

The Prophetess can see all spells held by other players. The Genie Followers spells are placed on the genie itself (as stated on the card)
So they are placed on the follower, not hold by the player and Prohetess is not supposed to see them.

Ah ok, will remember that in future then, one of those rules that's really not apparent then. I assume that this applies to other objects/followers that give free spells associated with them and not the player.
