Can't enter menagerie [Solved]

Perhaps I still don't understand the movement rules, but I am in the street above the menagerie and can't enter it after my die roll. Even a 1 should be enough as it is an adjecent space.

Now that I think of it, I am playing a Ninja, perhaps the critters count as a follower and that's why I can't enter?

Yep, Menagerie pets are Followers, and accordingly the Ninja cannot possess them (or even encounter the Menagerie!)
