A concern about the Sky Screecher.
In a recent game my character, the Thief, encountered the Sky Screecher, went into Battle against this creature, and lost. Yet from the evidence I believe that my character should have won.

Here is a screenshot of the Battle after the Attack Rolls have been made. Notice that my character had the higher Attack Score so apparently it had won the Battle.

Yet here is a screenshot that says that my character lost.

Here is a screenshot of my character's Inventory if this helps to work out why my character lost the Battle.

And here is a screenshot of the log for this Battle.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=849821859

Notice that in the log it says that the Sky Screecher's Attack Roll was 9 ! Yet the first screenshot shows that the Sky Screecher rolled an Attack Roll of 1, not 9.

The Sky Screecher card says: "If your attack roll is lower than your Craft, you are automatically defeated. It will remain here until it is killed." Since my character's Attack Roll was equal to my character's Craft, not lower, then this Special Ability of the Sky Screecher should not have come into effect and caused my character to lose the Battle.

So why did my character lose this Battle ?

i had a game the other day-where i lost to the glory seeker yet by die rolls i should have won. According to the log-he also rolled a 9. The other coincidence i noticed is that he was also on the space by the sentinel. I wonder if it is accidentally applying the sentinel strength as the die rolled value in its computations.

You raise an interesting idea. Next time I see this bug occuring I will try to remember to notice if it is occurring on the Sentinel space. Thanks for the suggestion.

Off topic question, @sjgf, but how did you access the log in game? I've looked through the options but could not see anything. Although, this was in between games.

There is a black area at the top of the screen in the game where messages appear such as when you are to roll the die (dice). If you click on this black area at the top of the screen it should take you to the log.

I just had a game where the Sky Screecher was on the Sentinel space (what are the odds!) and something very strange was happening.

An AI Martial Artist trying to move into the Middle Region by going past the Sentinel, and defeated the Sentinel in battle. However, his turn would just end, as though he lost, without moving further. He tried to get past the Sentinel about 15 times before I won the game, each time winning but just having his turn end. He had 8 Craft, so if the Sky Screecher was affecting it in some way, it probably saw his roll was lower than his Craft and caused the issue. It still listed him as the Winner in the log, and he never lost a life, but the turn ended all the same.

So maybe vidal22 is right then about the Sentinel causing a bug with the Sky Screecher.

Was the game with the martial artist trying to cross the sentinel warlock quest ending or did some one have the quest to defeat the sentinel. There is a bug-that i have already reported that if someone has the defeat the sentinel quest-no one else can pass the sentinel-even if the beat him in battle. It says they won-but there turn ends without them being able to cross. As soon as the defeat the sentinel quest is completed-then you can pass the sentinel by defeating him-but no one but the one with the quest can until that time

It was a Warlock Quest Ending game, but when that behavior began I checked to see if anyone had that Quest. No characters had that particular Quest.

interesting-cause everytime i have seen that action-it was warlock quest ending game. Maybe until that quest is somehow draw and completed, even if no one has it-it still acts up. But i do know that once that quest gets completed-sentinel behavior seems to return to normal as far as passing him goes-at least in the few games where i have seen that occur.
But-it doesn't seem to fix the rolling a 9 according to the log for enemies on that space-i have seen that even on different endings now.

Here is something to think about. Why does the 9 result even appear in the log ? From my experience the log does not normally show a creature's die roll result in a Battle or Psychic Combat.
