and by the way - even dragons can be caught asleep.
Its still only a few inches of steel. I think on the turn the cards are revealed they should get to roll. As it is, as soon as he hits str 3 he beats most monsters without a challenge.
Except for the 3rd edition...
Assassinate makes it easy to kill STR creatures very early which leads to STR increase through trophies, but Troll starts with 6 STR and warrior 4 STR and can chooses one die from 2 rolls, aren't they as good or almost as good for that task?
Then aginst players he is certain early on to be able to hurt them but i'd rather collect trophies and aventure cards at that stage. Also, from the games i've played so far healing seems to be plentyful so killing a player to loot him requires all players to gang up on him and good movement rolls to get there.
Maybe veterans of the game can enlighten me, thank you ^^.
Someone sent FFG this question and got this answer:
1) Does the assassin power work only on face-up adventure cards, or on every enemy that he draws.
A: You may assassinate any Enemy card that fights in battle (but not psychic combat) even if the Enemy is already on the board or you just drew it.
Does it work on board elements? (pit fiends, farmer in the tavern, sentinel, etc).
A: Yes. Basically, if you are fighting a battle (but not psychic combat) your opponent does not get to make an attack roll against you. You simply compare your attack score (your attack roll plus your Strength) with the opponent's Strength to determine the winner. Note that if another character chooses to attack you instead of encountering the space that he lands in, you may not assassinate and the characters gets to make an attack roll against you as normal.
I own the 2nd edition of Talisman and there he can assassinate only creatures that are already face up, so i thought there is a bug in talismanDE. This new rule makes him very powerfull
I dont know if he is too powerful. Just play as him versus Warrior and Troll to check that :D
