Eastern Dragon does not give you a choice, but you could choose your superior stat against the other opponent.
So if Cerberus and Lord of the Pit were encountered together, how would Nomad code that? Would you choose Strength/Craft for Cerberus and then Strength/Craft for Lord of the Pit? If you ended up choosing the same value for both, would they both fight you together? And therefore, would you have to make the choice for both enemies before you began any fight?
More of a thought experiment for Nomad really... the ruling is important sure but the implementation regardless of the ruling could be tricky.
