3rd edition graphics?

Could someone tell me if the game has the graphics for the old Warhammer 3rd edition talisman games?.I prefer the artists and models from the 3rd ed and i'll only purchase the game if they're included.

I'm afraid not the game is solely based on the 4e of the board, I don't actually know how it compares to the 3rd one but I assure you it's a solid translation of a really excellent game. Especially if you have any love for the game in any of it's versions

3rd edition was tied into the Warhammer world (Skaven, Orcs etc.). I very much doubt they'd have license to do that. I for one am glad that Talisman is it's own world again with 4th edition.

The subject of artwork has been discussed in other threads and I made the suggestion to Carl in person at Games Day 2012 that we have skins from the older editions and maybe even Bob harris original sketches from the prototype etc. I think the main focus is on getting the game working perfect for the minute before little bonuses like that are looked at, you will have to ask the devs...

3ed is a completly seperate game rule and victory vise. I prefere 4ed myself. ( Of course I would like to see Gary Chalk 2ed character drawings as an DLC. ;) )

Yep, I would like to see that as well. Depends who owns the copyright. I'm pretty sure Gary Chalk has the copyright to every single Lone Wolf illustration he did, but maybe Games Workshop retained the copyright to his artwork for Talisman - who knows!!! It would however present a problem for 4th edition newer characters. I dont imagine it would be cheap to commission Gary to produce new work for them for the sake of a new skin for the pieces. I certainly would love to see it though.

I maybe a heratic :P
but i really prefer the art style of the 90's warhammer fantasy universe, the rules are inconsequential.
Id love to buy a 3rd edition DLC image pack if part(most) of the money goes towards the artists.

I'm not familiar with or can't remember the difference between the 2nd and 3rd editions but I really miss the old 2nd edition art style. I think the 4th edition is good (and lets face it we were happy just to have Talisman back again) but there's something so special about the older, simpler art. The older style feels more hand-drawn and personal while the new is more digital/photoshop. Maybe it's just nostalgia.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

I doubt we'll ever see skins or mods though since I think there are many cards that are unique to the 4th edition. Someone would have to draw these in the old style for it to work.

alternate card art or even alternate character models seems like such a natural DLC idea for a game that has a cult following like Talisman. at least it gives a way to make male/female versions of all the characters. some slight name changes might be necessary but at least they wouldnt have to redesign the whole character. then offer both m/f versions (if you have em) in the character select screen.

as to the adventure deck art. they could sell packs like a tcg. the 'commons' would be your regular skin change, 'rare' would be some sort of foil effect. also make em tradeable and you have a way to energize your online community even more.

since they are 'cards' then i dont see why they cant use a TCG model for selling them as DLC. just the alt art cards, not the base game cards of course. and then let players earn these packs for free with exp, just make the grind long enough that buying them is an attractive option to those who 'must have'.

If I remember correctly there was a conflict between the original artist (Gary Chalk?) and the company. I'm unsure about the details though.

Prophet and Sorcerer is easy enough. just dont make a male amazon. and likewise dont make a femaile knight cuz lets be real.
