If they had a system in place where you can hold up multiple spells at a button press, and only you know which one is the actual cards, that would be good. I saw the system in Risk for ps2.
And maybe a prompt when spells can be played by another player. Hopefully non detrimental to the flow of the game.
I haven't played in awhile though so I don't know if the issues have been addressed. But anyhow, we were able to stand it and still have a blast.
The Dev team is as commited to the local play as the online play so if you do happen to find an issue of something not working on local play let them know they have been very quick to try to fix any game issues.
Edit: added this in response to above post:
We play that you simply make everyone look away a second while you look at your cards, not best system but one of only options when everyone is looking at one screen. They have also added a pause button so at anytime you can pause the game and any player can cast spells from his inventory allowing to you counter spells or cast something during another players turn.
