I'm sick of tired of playing against little boys who quit the game when things don't go their way !!!!

Welcome to online gaming....

I set up a Facebook page to try and build a more mature group of players who like Talisman. I'll happily rage quit a single player personally lol, but multiplayer requires a fight to the very end!

My page is here, I would like to hope that people use the page to build little groups and arranged games. As Talisman gets bigger, games will get longer and that will be another obstacle in the future....a 7 hour Talisman fest with beers and mates around a table is very different to an online game!

The thing is with Talisman is that fortunes can change quite dramatically. I too have reached rage point only to turn everything around. One of the pleasures of Talisman is coming from nowhere and conquering all!

I love the fact that things can change so suddenly. I was in a vey good position recently, got turned into a toad, the dwarf landed on my spot next turn grabbed all my gear and made a mad dash for the Crown. Dwarf won, I laughed. Good fun.
Just had another game, didn't like my spell casting at them - they quit !!!! , then someone else quit !!!!! - PATHETIC !!!!!

Hmm. I wonder if those were new folk to the game? It does throw up a couple of questions: 1. Incentivising to stay and 2. Matching up players of similar skill and temperament...

If people leave your game you can still play it to the end though. Right? I believe the AI takes over for the missing player.

Yes that's true, but it's not great if everyone leaves.

A lot of people don't like playing with the AI at the moment so a lot of the time if one leaves others will follow, i think there should be an option to not replace a player with AI when they drop out, maybe a vote between the remaining players or something?

I've only played one online game -- 3 player. one player quit/crashed, then my game crashed. I wonder what that looked like from the remaining player's end -- did s/he think I quit?

I have no plans to try online again until I hear that it's very stable.

it's very simple how to deal with quitters, if u ever have played on asobrain etc you know it very well and this is cool mechanism in my opinion

game engine can easily check if it was internet issue and player got disconnected or player just left (hate it, no respect at all for other players because he was losing or angry and if I wanted to play with AI I would play single player which is ridiculous and waste of my time)

there should be penalty using some points in global ranking for every quit (and maybe a little of ranking points for every properly finished game as a reward encouraging to play till the end of the game - also when these players aren't winners, of course winner gets much more)

every player should have QUITTING COUNTER (maybe beside to total games counter) that is presented as extra information in the lobby so host can decide whether to kick such player before game starts or let him play

here it is another very important feature that NEEDS TO BE ADD: in the lobby host needs to have kicking option and once the game started player can be kicked only by voting of all players (by majority of votes)

you devs really should consider adding this options to make it more flexible and playable

I don't think there should be any penalties for quitting a game. I always play to the very end (or to the nearest crash), but for example yesterday I had to leave the game to do some other important tasks. The AI took control of my character, and when I was free again I continued my game. The opponent I played (this time not Xan) didn't have any objections.

I was able to back to my game, but some people may need to permanently leave the game. I don't think they should be punished. Real life issues always take priority over some games.

It's up to the devs ...

I would opt for such system, quitting once won't affect much your ranking position but quitting all the time should and it will
Silvio was in a game with me yesterday afternoon when the update rolled out. Our game went into total slow motion and my game froze as well as the whole laptop. Rebooted, started Steam and Talisman had somehow uninstalled itself! Reinstalled and ok after that!
