How many objects can you carry?

Confused on this one... I think you can carry 4 objects max but sometimes I can carry more without a mule.

You can carry as many trinkets as you can pick up. Some of the items you pick up are trinkets.

And then there's all the followers you can obtain to boost your object capacity: Mule, Horse & Cart, Miner, Porter, Clockwork Cabinet (New in City!)

Also there are objects that allow you to boost your capacity: Concealed Pouch, Bag of Carrying, Bag of Holding

Also the new Tinkerer character can convert Objects to Followers at will :)

trinkets are all still objects themselves the difference is that the idea is they are so small and light that no-one notices carrying them

I thought trickets also had a limit of 8 or something?

Dunno where you got that idea from, trinkets have no limit.

The Bag of Holding can store 8 items, and the Horse and Cart allows an extra 8 items as well.

So why (other than they always have been) are small items NOT trinkets? A Magic Ring (OG style), a Belt of Strength, Solomon's Crown, and a pair of boots encumber the player as much as 4 suits of armor.

Trinkets were introduced in one of the expansions (The Highlands iirc), those objects you mention are all from the base set.

Oh, i get that...still seems counterintuitive though!
