Amusing sequences of random events...

There are so many random elements in this game, with the cards and die rolls, that sometimes they converge into outcomes that make me chuckle.

So my character was in the Hidden Valley, minding his own business, when one of the other adventurers, out of the blue, gifted him with a "Haunting Poltergeist".

Okay, so now I can only move 1 space, and have to cross the river. Good thing I'm close to the bridge. I set off toward it, trudging into the hills...and encounter a "Madcap". Rolling for the outcome, he makes my alignment "Neutral". Which it already is, so I get another turn!
I of course spend it walking across the bridge. Yeah! I'm free of the ghostly follower!

Arriving on the far side of the bridge, I of course draw a card for that space. And I draw...
(ready?) a plain old regular "Poltergeist", LOL.

Its at that point that I realize one of my items is blinking. It had never occurred to me that since the game classes things like a Poltergeist, Hag, etc., as just another "Follower", they are free game to use with an item like "The Book of Diablerie". So this crazy sequence of events ended with me getting rid of two Poltergeists in one turn, and gaining a spell!

What are some of the funniest/weirdest things you've seen happen in this game?

I wouldn't call it funny or weird, but this was the Talismanest.

I was cruising early game, Gambler, with Holy Relic and Runesword, and some good followers. Ready to steamroll the game, landing on the Chapel to fate up.

Devil's Minion then drew the gathering, so every spirit on the region went to him. This included Demon, a Wraith, and the Crone. He apparently can send ALL the spirits to me, so I auto lose and am toaded. Also all my stuff is now stuck under a pile of spirits.

Just because something has a one in a million chance of happening doesn't mean it won't happen. It just means you won't be ready for it!
