So the Scout can prevent other players from visiting the Shrine, Altar, Idol, etc.? Nasty ability. I like it. :-{D

Yes and no. Notice that tokens remain on the card forever, and they return to the stockpile only if the card is removed from its space. Therefore if the Scout will use his tokens to mark some partially useless cards, he won't be able to use them anymore.

Yes, that's understood. But cards like the Shrine, Idol and Altar remain forever (or until Earthquake or Ragnarok appear), so denying their use to other players while reserving thier boosts for yourself is deliciously evil.

Yes, as long as You easily (and not just two times per game) can enter them frequently ;).

But yeah, his abilities are pretty awesome. With his +1 to move ability he has much more chances to visit his secret paths than any other character.

I hate the addition of all the new "tokens". each new character has abilities relying on the tokens which add components to the game that are only useful to one character. Bad design in my opinion, should have found a way or use pre-esisting tokens, IMHO.

Well, some of the tokens are placed on the board, so it's important to make them distinguishable. In addition, if you have to include token sheet for one character, it's probably better to just fill it with various tokens to make use of a whole sheet.

Agreed, my issue is the shere quantity of "unique" tokens we already have to manage. It is just disheartening to see another 5 added.

I don't think there will be any management issue at all. The tokens are only used when that particular character is in play and then only by that 1 player. The tokens are there to make the job of manging that characters ability easier NOT to make the game harder.

Even if every single charater from woodlands are being used it's still not a problem because its down to the individual players to deal with their tokens.

I think this is a positive new direction for Talisman introducing some new character dynamics. I hope to see more well created innovations in future expansions.

Besides, based on the release schedule that I outlined in another post, we're likely not to see The Woodlands expansion for another 2 years yet, so it's much too soon to start being concerned about such things.

You must be refering to the digital release schedule. My issue isn't with the extra counters in the digital version since the computer manages the tokens for you. I am objecting to the addition of a bunch of new tokes in the physical game that are only useful to specific characters. There are to many individual piecies for this game, with each new token type the potential for loosing piecies increases; then there are storage issues, and just the shere volume of tokens to remember what each token if for. Just my opinion, I am a compleationist and so I make sure I buy all expansions, and the number of unique game peicies seems to be getting out of control. IMHO
I'm going to redesign the character cards so that the tokens aren't required!
