can you not save an online game?

This is a major bummer if so, my friends and i are trying to put our game on ice to come back to later, considering that this IS talisman and when you have all your expansions going this game takes a damn weekend to finish. Cmon, seriously no way to save multiplayer games online?(breaks out stellaris and continues online game with friends...)

The game saves automatically, so you CAN resume later.
You may be searching for a save button, but the saving is done for you.

When you all leave the game and return later, there is a resume button.
If the resume button somehow doesn't work, you just search for your table and rejoin there which leads you to the lobby. Once all players are in the lobby the host can start the game again.
It may sound complicated, but it is actually fairly simple.

doesnt matter. if you leave your game you can resume it. But keep in mind that after a new update the save file is gone. also if you start a new game the previous save file will be overwritten.

And just to be clear, what you suggested to be the case, absolutely did not happen with our game. When we all left the game, the game was removed from the lobby que and our resume buttons were greyed out. When i retype the game with the same name in private search/join games, it just starts a new game with that name. So as it stands, it seems that you cannot all leave an online private game and return to it later.

...which means you cant load it.

Stupid lying game. Played with a friend for a couple of hours, I told her that the game saves automatically. We both left. Now I don't have Resume button (greyed out), she says it didn't save. Friend angry at me.

Stick your damn game where the sun doesn't shine.
