Is The Cataclysm Expansion any good

have purchased realm of souls and was wonder if The Cataclysm Expansion is good. The board looks different.

Generally I don't know any single person (and I know really a lot that play Talisman) that would prefer the core board over the Cataclysm board. So yeah, it's good ;).

I find the Cataclysm board to be a vast improvement over the original one. The Sentinel can be passed with Craft (instead of being Strength only), Deserts are actually an interesting choice (making immunity to desert damage much more important), Oasis has a good interaction with them (and it's the one guaranteed heal location), the chasm doesn't take forever to resolve, the Temple has much more balanced results, Crags and Forest have much more interesting risk/reward, the Cursed Glade is less wonky (and draws 2 so you might want to go there), the purchase deck is more varied and interesting (and different from the one you get at the Market and on Market Day), Highways and wagoneer give more control over where you land...


Yeah, I really liked this board.

I know a couple of people that prefer the core board...I sure as heck ain't one of them! I love the randomness of the Denizens and for the reasons Sojiro said. Haven't played with the core board since Catsclysm came out and I refuse to!

It kills some abilities from some Charakters and merchantise. Also it seems to be buggy. F.ex. The merchandiser can't anymore sell his items on the village, the Pirate can't anymore go to the tavern for gold, the barmaid also...it is not bad and has interesting charakters, but don't actvivate it by some characters...or play-styles
