As for rng cheating, in one of my games an AI character beat me to the crown of command. I was playing on the standard ending and as I desperately made my way there my AI opponent cast the spell at me and missed, time and again. Ones twos and threes seemed the only numbers he could roll. It took me six or seven turns to make it to the crown and he hit that spell only once in all that time.
I made it to the crown. beat down his last two lives and eventually won the game.
In short my experiences have been very different.
One game (which I wish I would have recorded) The AI spell casters hit me with the follow spells, starting the second turn. The game included the Apprentice Mage, ♥♥♥♥♥, and Wizard.
Turn Two - Immobility
Turn Three - Sleep
Turn Four - Time Steal
Turn Five - Immobility
Turn Six- Vindication
Turn Seven - Time Steal
Turn Eight - Sleep
Turn Nine - Cheat Fate
I have no clue how the AI could have considered me to be ahead that early in the game.
But I can also confirm the AI won't ever do anything that a human player couldn't do. It's just that a human player has more sense than a robot. Don't tell Skynet I said that.
Edit: The fight was against Queen Mab with mages path.
In the case of the Deep Realms, I'm assuming the AI is aware of all the treasure contained within, and are like HOLY $H1T I NEED THAT, but I think they need to be more aware of the danger level of an area and their ability to handle it. I have no clue why they are so obsessed with the Woodlands.
I'd love to see them more heavily prioritize the outer ring, Highlands, and the City, at the beginning of the game, and once they reach certain power levels, move on towards the Woodlands, Dungeon, and middle ring.
