Make a private game if you want to play with friends
If it isn't listed as private it means anyone can join and should be allowed to join. That's why it's quite annoying to join a game only to get kicked without even a word. Either learn to make a private game or at least tell the person you are kicking "Sorry, we are waiting for a friend". It's called politeness.

Since this game supports cross-form playing, it is sometimes just not possible to host a private game, even more when some players are ios or android users.

Beside this, your thread will not really fix this issue, most people just don`t care and are kicking other users, some player also have a blacklist for online games.

A blacklist achieves nothing since people can just change their name anytime they want, but anyway I hope they don't blacklist people for one little misstep. Like when someone threatened to blacklist me just because I picked Alchemist once. That's going a bit far imo, but each to their own.

The player base isn`t small, i`ve more then 250 friends who are playing Talisman, more then 150 of them are playing regulary.

Regardless this thread will not change the behavior of some people, i also encountered some special person that are kicking everybody from the server, or online trolls, who join leave and rejoin.

Sure the blacklist isn`t really working when people are changing their names, i just wish Nomad will bring back the abiliy to see the xp level form all the players.

I didn't except it to change the behavior of people. It was just a little reminder. That's all. I would be surprised if a single thread can change how people behave at all. Please don't ask why I posted it. :)

I know why you posted it, public games are a mess (sometimes).

I know you're not talking about me, but you ragequit in my game after 2 turns after someone targeted you with a spell. I can understand why people would start kicking you systematically if you're always that umbrageous.

But I would definitely welcome more lucidity on which players are actually in the lobby, along with the ability to get rid of the rare actual, genuine troll. Maybe some day, when the game will get a complete interface overhaul and we all get taken to the Promised Land, we will be able enjoy the ability to report players and have hosts have the ability to name their tables. And maybe, just maybe, all the information in the lobby will be sorted in a nice and clear manner.

Seriously, there is so much unused screen space, yet you have to traverse 4 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tabs while in the lobby. Every time I look at the lobby interface, I feel like my eyes are being massaged with sandpaper. Make the interface different for pc and console players already!

Sometimes I want to host with friends.. But I also want to invite everyone who is willing to join too ! Say I have 2 friends that i want to play with.. There is still 2 spots left for a 5 player game.

The problem is that the game has absolutely no way to reserve spots for your friends. And when someone joins and the game is full, in the meantime my friend cannot join ; so i have to first tell the guy why he's being kicked, wait a while to make sure he read the message, then kick him, then message my friend he can join me, and by the time i do that, another one joins.

This is why I'm kicking people right now whenever i'm waiting for a friend. I know it's not the best solution, and I know how unfuriating it can be to be kicked that way ; but there is no other way due to a lack of proper UI support.

I'm so sorry to all the guys i've kicked that way. I mean no harm to them. And I wouldn't have, if the game had some kind of "friend-only" spot.

If you mean when you cast that transmute spell, it wasn't because of that. I quit after you told me you are better than me, and I'm not gonna put up with such arrogant comments in a game I play because I enjoy it. However I am prepared to forget about it and play with you again next time, and hopefully we'll get along better.

I agree that it would be practical if people could name their games. Then they could name them stuff like "Don't join, we are an amish family" or "Catalyst stay away if you're going to be an idiot". ;)

I can back you up, if I ever played with Marik again I'd quit too. He's so passive aggresive and arrogant.

Marik should learn not everyone knows the game as well as he does, many people are new. Taliking down to them everytime they don't make an optimal play reflects badly on Marik not them.

You may give him another shot but I won't. It seems many players have had this expierence with him.

And yes give us the option to name our gamesl ike you can in the Private lobby.

Your comment just swayed me, since it confirmed I'm not the only one who experienced this. I don't know if he's like that all the time though. To me it seems like he goes salty when someone questions him even a little. He must think he is the god of Talisman or something. Being polite and respectful is necessary to maintain a good mood in a game.

If someone asks something, I will explain neutrally. If someone says something erroneous, I will correct them. If someone plays well or poorly and I happen to be paying attention, I will comment on what was done well or what could have been done better. If I play poorly myself, I will also comment.

If you interpret something I say in game as offensive or arrogant, that says way more about you than about me. You have to be saying something extremely stupid and irreflective for me to respond with just, 'that's why I'm a better player than you!'. And you have to be extremely sensitive for leaving after reading that. I know I wouldn't. Just admit that you left because you were salty.

I say that all the time after someone targets me. 'x would have been a better target.' But then I look around, and I see that the decision was alright. And then I comment on that as well. It's not hard to be nuanced, friend.

I admit that it was unnecessary to comment on your decision in that game, and the way I said it wasn't respectful, so maybe I didn't deserve a constructive response, but I sure as hell didn't expect an insult. I don't think you should say that you are better than others, just because you consider their comment stupid or irreflective. It will only make things worse, and create resentment towards you. It would be better to motivate your decision or simply state that you know what you're doing. That way you are better than them without actually saying it out loud.

So to summarize it was just an unfortunate slip that can be easily avoided with more careful choice of words from both parts.
