Hydra Spell + Death Pact + Frozen Spire

The following situation happened in my physical board game session last night..

Everyone has 3 lives, we are 3 players. I encounter the Frozen Spire, roll a 3 on my dice. I then cast Death Pact so that another player (player B) gets to pay the lives instead of me. This other player then cast Hydra spell on me and the other player (player C).

The way we resolved it : everybody dies. It was convenient for us because it was late and we needed a way to end this :p But I was wondering to the Talisman experts out there, how would you have resolved the situation?

I would say that everybody dies is the correct solution.

Player B lost his lives because of you casting Death Pact.
Player A and C lost the lives because of Hydra being cast by player B on the Death Pact.

Certainly an interesting situation!

He wouldn't be able to use it on any other player except from himself because he is the only one losing life while the spell is being cast. So ironically, in your scenario he is the only one who dies because he used the hydra spell on the wrong target.
