Problems with Talisman...
I played the Talisman the board game over 20 years ago, and I've found some glaring problems with the digital version of the game.

1. I keep getting an impossible number of doubles when I reroll after getting a bad result, over 1/3 of the time. Furthermore, the other night I was battling two other characters on the Crowd of Command space. One was an Elf with 7 lives, but the other was the Assassin with the Runesword and 12 lives. The assassin kept attacking the elf, and the elf kept getting 5s and 6s for his shield roll, 9 times in a row - both the elf and myself should have been dead. The RNG code should be called every time it's needed, and it should be seeded on the system clock (which constantly changes), and not be a pre-generated, set-in-stone list. XCOM 2 uses this kind of kluge, and while it may be simple to code, it's not proper random number generation.

2. I play this version single-player only. I need to ban certain characters from the game, as they are imbalanced. One is the Assassin - once it gets a 7 strength, no strength monster can win, very few players can beat him (and only when attacking it, not defending against due to the Assassinate skill), and the Assassin's victory is all but assured at that point. Another is the Prophetess, due to the always-possesses-spells in her abilities. The Thief is also on the edge of getting banned. The ability to exclude a list of characters from the character selection process needs to be implemented as a house rule.

3. A major problem arises from the allowing multiple copies of character in a game. In the board game, you couldn't due to the lack of duplicate character cards. Now, not only can there be multiple Assassins in a game, when you kill one off by taking all its lives, when it comes back, IT'S THE SAME CHARACTER !!! That's not how Talisman worked, you get a NEW character when your old one dies. That had a good benefit, because you probably died from having a sucky character, like the Priest or Elf, and you had good odds on getting one of the better characters. Or you got a new character because your overpowered character got taken out by everyone else, who cooperated to dispatch that overpowered character. This needs to be re-implemented as a house rule in the digital version - no duplicate characters, and when one dies, it doesn't come back (unless you potentially run out of characters and have to shuffle the character deck).

4. The Chapel needs to be updated so good characters can replenish fate up to their maximum there. The City space (or somewhere on the City expansion map) could do the same for neutral characters.

5. The City, Dungeon and Timescape expansions are missing, along with all their characters. these need to come back, complete with the expanded maps and extra cards.

6. There used to be characters who could fight strength combat using their Craft stat, and those characters need to come back.

7. The Elf has the ability to avoid monsters when encountering a space. That does NOT mean doing so at the expense of everything else on the space, including items and locations. The Elf should be able to encounter a space with a dragon, avoid the dragon, and pick up all the items in the space - the program doesn't, nor does it force them to encounter a Marsh, Maze, Hag, Poltergeist, etc. in the same space. This program does not allow that, and that's incorrect.

8. The AI is broken. There were two characters with Talismans, and one of them was fighting Pit Fiends in the center region. When one of the AI opponents cast an Acquisition spell, it should have taken the Talisman from the player fighting the Pit Fiends, forcing him to retreat. Instead, it took the other player's Talisman from the AI character in the outer region. Guess who won? Spoiler - it was the one fighting the Pit Fiends, who got the Race to the Crown ending two turns later. This is a glaring error in the AI program, you don't go easy on those opponents who might beat you two turns from now. Horrible programming.

I'm sure I can think of more problems with the game, but this is all I can think of at the moment. This game needs an overhaul, badly.

Uhm the ocd ppl on this forum didn’t HAVE to engage you know. So is being intentionally obtuse ban worthy, or did some sensitive snowflake actually report him? Grow a thicker skin, Jesus.

I wouldn't have known they've gotten banned if you hadn't mention it. I blocked his comments a while ago when he resorted to calling people he disagreed with idiots. Totally unnecessary, especially over a game.

Who got banned?

So you responded the right way by ignoring him instead of demanding he conform or be banned. I REALLY hope it was for some reason other than what I saw in this thread.

Exactly. We all have different opinions. Life is too short to get stressed out over comments on a message board.

Yeah, don't ban him. This thread is free entertainment!

Doesn't matter now. Once I got banned, you people proved my point. I uninstalled the game, and I will never buy anything from Nomad Games or Games Workshop ever again. If GW hires people who don't even get involved in the conversation to stick up for people with useful ideas, and allows trolls to keep trolling while bugs linger, then GW isn't worthy of my money, either. I'm not playing Talisman again. If anyone asks, I'll tell them exactly what happened here. You've proven beyond any doubt that you don't care about other people at all, nor their legitimate ideas. Congratulations, you ruined a game, which could have been a lot better. End of discussion.

Pretty sure you got banned for calling people names. I strongly doubt you suffered some cruel form of free-speech censure.
But whatever, keep believing whatever you want as you did the whole thread. In the meantime we’ll enjoy playing Talisman.

Actually, it was probably because of the way you kept insulting people here on this thread.

Also, do remind me again what your useful ideas were - because banning all the characters in the game didn't seem all that useful. Nor did moaning because you weren't getting all the expansions for free in the base game. Nor was basically saying DE should have been based off 2nd Edition rather than revised 4th Edition.

Maybe I missed them amongst all the insults?

6. monk - your inner belief allows you to add your craft value to your strength during battle

also you can cast a spell - psionic blast - cast in yourself when you are about to engage in battles. add your starting craft to your strength until the end of the battle

there’s crystal sceptre - when you attack another character you may choose to make the attack physic combat

That only adds craft VALUE, while he asked for using Craft INSTEAD of Strength in battles. There is one wand that does that, green dragon deck I think, but that's about it.

1. Never had such problem.
2. Who cares, there are tons of characters anyway and AI's not that smart.
3. Never had such problem.
4. Doesn't sound important. Much of land gets terraformed anyway.
5. City and Dungeon is in. Timescape is not, but I think it may be obvious why devs chose to exclude that. Timescape isn't even a Talisman boardgame expansion, but a standalone boardgame.
6. I never mind more characters.
7. All 'evade' effects I've used did allow me to access other cards on space.
8. AI does makes ill decions, not just that. Then again not all humans are that smart either.

There's no point in necroing this thread. Kkitts wasn't even bothering to be reasonable, because he refused to accept any fixes for his "issues" that came from EPs, despite the fact that the EP up until Cataclysm were set by FFG, and not Nomad.

So, the wand from the Green Dragon Deck wouldn't satisfy him, because he "refused" to pay for any expansions anyway...
