OSX Feedback
Greetings all.

If you're playing the game on OSX, then feel free to leave feedback on your experience with the official build of the game here.

Having it all in one place makes our job easier, and thus makes it easier to improve matters.
Also, if you're looking for fixes for some problems you may run into(known and unknown), then you'll be able to find help here in the future.

Let us know if you have any issues.

Just a few notes on what features are officially(and regrettably) lacking at this point.

NOTE: The official port does not feature any Steam networking, so multiplayer connections have to be made through Direct IP connection, and they'd need to be port-forwarded(Ports 7777, 7778, 27015 and 27016), etc. Alternatively via LAN.

NOTE2: Cross-platform MP will not work. So the official port is incompatible with the PC version, the PC Demo, the Mac Demo, the Mac Beta, and both of the separate spin-offs.

NOTE3: Steam features are not currently supported, despite out best efforts up to this point. This includes: Friend Joining, Steam Server Browser, Steam Workshop, and Steam Achievements.

"NOTE2: Cross-platform MP will not work."
Is there plans to make OSX and Windows be able to play together in the future?

No concrete plans I'm afraid. We're not yet sure what would be required to get it working, so it could be very difficult to achieve, but we do want to investigate it.

27015 is the most important.

Works Well, but I seem to have an issue with my xbox 360 controller. The triggers don't work. All of the other buttons work. In the controller configuration it doesn't seem to recognise the triggers when trying to assign them?

Hmm, that's odd. Although I myself couldn't get a controller working on my Mac, if it works for other games, then it should work for VCD.

You can try binding the Interact and Drop / Hit keys to X and B otherwise, they are currently the least used keys in VCD.

Hello, I've contacted Arn about an issue I was having and he sent me over here saying you/his brother/the coder/whoever is looking at this thread on the team could help me. To explain it in my own words would be a little to long and he summed up what I was saying best so I'll mix the two.

Under my Steamapps/common/Viscera folder there is no data.

I did run the beta but it is no longer set up on my computer as I removed it when I found out it was finally on steam.

I have installed and uninstalled it repeatedly (on steam), uninstalled and then reinstalled steam a couple of times, and restarted my computer multiple times to see if this will fix the no data problem... it hasn't. I also tried this with the game (on steam) still installed but to no avail.

Another thing I noticed is that when I install a game it always shows me how much space it takes up and how much space I have to spare. It does NOT do this for viscera during the install process but for every single one of my other games it does.

In summary, it would appear that something is wrong with the installation process for this game specifically and that it is making the folder (under steams/common/viscera) but it is not actually putting anything in it or anywhere on my computer.

I hope you can help me with this issue, and thank you for your time.

Hmm, that's rather odd. We were having this same problem with others.
More info for which can be found here on page 23 and 24: http://steamcommunity.com/app/246900/discussions/0/604941528487326270/?ctp=24

In short though, I discovered there was an issue with the 4-pack. If you purchased that, or had a gift copy, the data would not be available. I have since fixed these, and it seemed to work for people.

Have you tried it in the last few days?

Otherwise if it's still happening, I shall dig a little deeper.

I did not purchase a 4-pack BUT I did recieve the entire viscera collection from a friend BEFORE it was available to mac. (not counting shadow warrior because that comes with the game shadow warrior). I will try it again and inform you if it does not work still.

Aha, good to hear!

Good news regarding the HoH DLC and the Mac version.
It seems to be working properly now, and is no longer crashing the game.

Let me know if it has any other issues.

I'm trying to play with a friend who has a Mac. I cant direct connect to his game and he can't connect to mine. We have even tried with things like Hamachi. It just says connecting and then it fades out! I have no idea what to do.
BlackEagle  [developer] Apr 3, 2017 @ 1:52am
Are you on a windows PC? If so, cross-platform MP is not supported.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what else it could be if you've port forwarded and tried Hamachi.
Huge Squid Apr 4, 2017 @ 6:43am
Yeah i have a windows PC but we have yet to try port forwarded and i don't know how?
