Elevator Broken
Can someone help me? The Elevator in the Incubation Emergency Level has stopped working. When I attempt to move to another floor, the control panel will show the elevator travelling, but the elevator won't actually move, it's stuck on the ground floor. The doors however, seem to function just fine, as does the levers. For a while I was able to get past this by using the debug menu to teleport up there, but this doesn't seem to allow me to take any object with me. Unfortunately, the device to read name tags is up there. So, for the past few hours, I've been try to make a tower with the J-HARM and a number of crates. And after dropping the bucket with name tags twice and scattering them all to the eather (and rigorously cursing whoever made the physics) I've given up. I'm a bit of a completionist and have already put a lot of time into this game (and this level). Is there a solution where my progress thus far is saved? Like, a debug command that could fix the elevator or let me take something upstairs?

Ghost
Walk
Try those as while Ghosting it may be possible to fix the jammed lift
(Probably a pid or bullet shell stuck in the lift)

I had same problem when building a workshop map
Vcinterpactor gets stuck but the default interpactor doesn't get stuck???
Vcinterpactor gets stuck and plays looping sound forever???
Interpactor doesn't do that=works better than vcinterpactor???

While Ghosting try to clear the obstruction
Killnearestmess may also help unjam the lift???

Was this from an old save-file? (pre v1.1)

The lift is supposed to be working in new sessions, unless we missed something...?

Thank you so much, A JANITOR! I thought I lost those PID's forever! I knew you could teleport, but I didn't know how to ghost. I'll try "killnearestmess" to clear the elevator, but I guess I don't need it if I can just ghost up there. Also, to the Dev, I believe I have v1.13 if that helps you any. I'm surprised and kind of honored that you took the time to respond to me. (Sorry about the comment about cursing whoever made the physics, your game is awesome, it's one of my favorite games on this platform '^-^).....

no worries make sure the game is up to date and yeah old game saves after game updates can cause weird things to happen esp after devs fix something that was broken
lift is fine on my end so far......lol but the old original lift was better

Heh, it certainly has its share of physics issues. It annoys us no end as well.
We do what we can, but it's a stalemate. :P

Nothing ever seems to fix the issues you have. ; )
I thought Matinee lifts worked better to stop the "jumping", or is something else odd about it now?

my bank matinee lift works fine but if i used a vcinterp actor it gets stuck
incubator lift is ok but i havnt tried overloading it with debris=was impossible to break the original lift and if it ever got stuck=if only the lift shaft lever was outside as well as inside=then didnt have to ghost in there
same if break the lift in gravity drive with the vent cover in o g=have to ghost in to get vent cover out as no reset lever outside lift?
vent cover inside lift is easy to bork the lift in gravity drive when sending lift up/down

mutant ants nest i copied lift from core sample kismet n all (identical) core sample lift works fine in core sample!
copied lift got stuck n played sound forever when it touched water actor/water surface as lift is in the water
lift got stuck in lift shaft too
vcinterpactor cant touch other meshes but default interpactor can=ignores getting stuck:)
swapped for default interpactor fixed it as well as ditching the bools/most of the kismet n running it off 1 trigger and uppon jamming instead it changes direction to reset it
also put a trigger hard attached to underside of lift to stop debris jamming under lift/stops it from breaking position of lift too n made it change direction instead of breaking the matinee:)
bank lift works off 2 triggers
both lifts have to be used twice to reset them after loading a save to prevent em from bugging out
yeah its a can of worms in some cases but not others lol:)
with the last patch=the new lifts do work better

I'm looking at buying a new high end PC with a decent warp core in it soon=with any luck it glows in the dark n hovers around my desk like a UFO:)
Whatever I do buy won't have NVIDIA in it cuz AMD doesn't lag:)

Even on my boat anchor the game runs fine off 32mb Intel video
Learner heaps from making maps n how do deal with weird problems as it usually a simple fix


im not worried about the lifts
im more woried that flares dont light santas tnt=use coal to burn things
that new egg mesh makes nice coal and hoh dark window material is the new material n hoh fireplace fire as new emitter=makes convincing coal esp when it glows red in the red light:)

I added coal to my santa map=flare mod
even normal flares dont light santa tnt
not sure if they light molotovs or candles either???
cool if could use left mouse to light a molotov too???
also added santa as a new action figure=if only i could find a zombie santas body in santas rampage and use his shotgun:)

flares and coal does light vcdynamite but doesnt light santa TNT???
