How to load a Saved File?
I guess I am just blink since I found people discussing about saved files, how to delete them and what happens when you load one..

but I haven't figured out how to load one?
I fail to find an option in the menu and if I try it from the steam folder, take the save file and hit "open with" and pick the .exe I will only get an error message which tells me I cannot load it like this :/

I would appreciate help :3

Uh, i suppose the save system can be confusing at first. You only get ONE slot, which is the progress of whatever map you're currently cleaning, there are 3 restore buttons, this doesnt mean there are 3 slots, but 3 methods to restore your save game.

The Restore option left of Speedrun will load your map mid-cleanup in speedrun mode, the one left of where you get to work normally, well, it loads the map normally. And the one left of hosting hosts the in-progress scene online.

And the office is saved seperately, no need to worry about that, saving in the office just saves the office, and wont overwrite the progress of whatever map you're cleaning. (Though the office auto-saves on its own as well.)
Oh, and deleting them would simply reset map/office progress, depending on what you deleted. Might be handy to know if your office is a glitched/irrepairable mess. :P

I am a bit confused as to the "left of" description.
For me there is nothing on the left of Speedrun/host/whatsoever o.o
Only if I click on it, the list of the maps pop up on the right, but i totally cannot find anything on the left.
So far I only saved the office, any special rules for this maybe?
And if so, how can I load the office save?

Thanks for the help already!

Are you sure you have a save file? Try playing a map and make one by pressing esc and click on the save button, then leave the map.

Well I was playing The Office and hit save during the game.
And there is a .SAV data named OfficeData in the Saves Folder.
And to me it is important to load the saved office atm o_o

Yeah, just finish any map and you'll be transported to the office, after using the punch-o-matic. Alternatively, go to the main menu, and click on 'Office', which takes you to your office directly.
Saving in the office will simply save the state of your office (leaving it might also save it), which creates an office save file.

Saving in a regular level will let you use the load options i mentioned earlier, which let you continue cleaning a level after you've saved and exited the game (in that order), or it'll let you continue from where autosave (if enabled) last left you off, whatever of the two was the most recent save.

Soo.. in other words, my cleaned up Office save was pointless and I will never see my clean office again? :(
My friend and I went straight from Arthenas Wrath to the Office and cleaned it.
And we wondered if there won't be any "you've done all" message, thus I saved ... and now I will never see this again? o.o

You can click the Office button on the main menu to go directly to your office. Anything you do in your office is automatically saved no matter how you got there. Everything you did should still be in existence.

The office is unique in that it's not saved in the same slot as every other level, it is only saved for use when you next visit the office.

A save in any other level creates 3 "Restore" buttons on the main menu.

Hmm, it could be because you joined your friends game. The office was likely saved on his computer but not yours, because the game uses the host's version and tries to keep your own version intact. Only Hosts can save level data, and since you were probably a client, it didn't save anything for you.

I'm not sure what to do about this behaviour, whether I should overwrite your save file with your friend's office, or keep them separate...maybe if you intentionally hit the Save Button it can overwrite it. Eitherway, getting clients to reliably save level data will be tricky.

The loading option has been in the game for years.
It was changed from a button to a list.

You must have missed it, it was on the same menu as where you go to select the level you want to play.

From the main menu you go to "Start Assignment -> Solo". At the top of the menu you will see the words "Save File".
Below it is a box with a list in it. Simply select an item in the list and the game will load that save file when you click "Start Work!".

Saving a file can of course be done in the mid-game menu with the "Save Game" and respective menu.
