Mac questions/discussion
Greetings everyone!

So one of the big things I'd like to tackle is determining whether VCD will work with Mac. As some of you may know, we previously had a build going, which was not working great. So a renewed push to get it working, or determine whether it'll work at all, is in order!

EDIT: We have a build going if you have the game! To give it a try, head to the Steam client, right-click on Viscera Cleanup Detail in the library and go to Properties. Under there, find the "Betas" tab and enter the code "ZeTrollPatch". And when running the game, choose the Launch Mac option. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks ya'll!

have you tried setting the fov slider to 130 or 140 that fixes that problem for me on the pc version as lowest fov is kinda like having a bin in ones face n stuff often falls off the edge of bins onto the floor its like cant lift stuff high enough?
try higher fov n spill less buckets n hardly ever miss the bin it also makes stacking the crates and barrels alot easier:)
fov above 140 is too fishy eyed for my pc screen:)
1900x res is also better depends on screen size

Bug report up in here; when I first launched the game on my 2010 MBP running OS 10.8.5 (it won't support newer OS'), it asks to move the game to the Applications folder; if you say yes, you can no longer launch the game through Steam, since now all the files are missing. You may want to find a way to disable it from asking, or put a notice in or something.

Sidenote, one can redownload all the content, or probably just move the folder back to resolve this issue, but it is confusing when it happens.

Great, thanks guys.

Yeah, they haven't been merged yet. Shadow Warrior will only be merged into the main game next year, the Mac merge will likely follow then.

As for the DLC(House of Horror), we're not sure how to get that separate on OSX yet.

For some reason, the Steam integration with the Unreal Engine causes the game to crash on OSX, so we had to avoid using large bits of it(Steam networking + Achievements).

Hi, Devs. First: LOVE VCD. Thanks for making such an amusing and original game.

Second: my specs ...
iMac 27 inch, Late 2013
3.5 ghz Intel core i7
16 gb 1600 mhz ddr3
nvidia geforce gtx 780m 4096 mb

Feedback
I played on Win7 and Win8 first, so I know how it should look.

1. VCD refuses to play in fullscreen.
2. Field of view is much narrower than windows version. Makes it much harder to see. I feel like everything is really close up.

Positives:
VERY smooth. Controls are about the same. Sound is clear.

Could I get ahold of a key?

I loved the 22 minutes I got to play on my pc (Which sadly broke) and I would love to get it on mac.

My specs:

iMac (24-inch, early 2009)
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB

I know this is a older computer, but it runs things pretty well. It could also be helpful to see how it runs on older devices.

Thanks for creating a great game.

No luck, it says its not available on my current platform. I received the game as a gift, could that be my issue?

Odd... thats probably what the problem is or something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with your files
ShadowBlade  [developer] Dec 21, 2015 @ 1:59pm
Hmm. Are you choosing the "Launch Mac" option when launching from Steam?
A gift copy shouldn't matter.

I cant even install it, how exactly do I "Launch Mac"? Is that an option inside the launcher after installing? or is it something I can do before that?

This should be all that is needed:

-Buy Viscera Cleanup Detail(or be gifted it)
-Right-click on the item in your Steam client, select the Betas tab, enter the code to unlock the Mac beta
-Install the game
-Download it
-Run it(selecting the Launch Mac option when the dialog appears)

If you installed it before entering the code, then enter the code and re-download it/possibly re-install it.

Also after entering the code you need to make sure you've opt into the beta, I think just entering the code unlocks the option to use the beta, it doesn't automatically select the beta

I have done everything correctly and opted in. I just cannot install it. Steam keeps telling me "Viscera Cleanup Detail is not available on your current platform". Im guessing steam isnt recognizing that I have opted into the beta and believes Im trying to run the normal PC version.
