I changed VCD Font to Korean Font..(비세라 클린업 디테일 한국어 폰트 추가)
As you seen on title, I changed VCD's font.
I saw a discussion that dev says it is impossible because font is hard-coded, but I did it.
I made a new font package with built-in editor and renamed to original one, and loaded perfectly!

Funny is that i already knew that such thing was actually possible the way you did it.
Technically nothing that is inside an upk file is really hard-coded.
The only thing that prevents us from editing is how the original upk files were made and since Unreal Engine is somewhat "dumb" and loads everything we give it, it can simply just load modified upk files with the same file names and so on.

Just to wait until someone rigs a custom player model and replaces the original Janitor so we can have custom skins.
This would be interesting for sure but someone has to know how the original bones work and how a new mesh is applied.
I mean, someone could even remaster the default stuff like other models and stuff.

Also, translating every single note will be a pain to do... so if you manage to do that, it would be really impressive (even if i'm not Korean) since the game has TONS of notes and UI elements that you can translated so this sure would take some time to do and this is a lot of work because you have to test each thing and how long the text is so it does not go out of bounds of notes for example.
I was thinking about doing a German translation once, but once i saw how much there is to translate it, would have taken too much time to do.
Also i think a Korean translation would be actually important for this game because 90% of the players i have seen online were Korean lol

usually if ya edit a vanilla upk file and save it the editor crashes n so does the game so good luck with a custom janitor rig but if ya get it working we would like an alien grey and a skeleton a zombie and a bandaged mummy and maybe the wicked witch of the west for hoh:albedothumbsup:

and no i not losing ya maps that stays as is (original as possible) so if ya make new ones upload those while some of ya old ones have some really scary bugs=lol

I kind of found it interesting that someone was able to replace stuff what was not really meant that way so i had the urge to post something because it is interesting even if i don't use this account for such stuff anymore.

My maps won't be lost anymore because they are all uploaded to the Internet Archive because i wanted to keep everything together and accessible to anyone.
Anyone that wants to modify them can do that since i have written that there too so anyone who wants to modify my maps can do that without asking.

6 years of service because one is still able to restore an account in 30 days so i decided to restore it so i can only use it for the games it still has.
I remember i had this virus that deleted a bunch of stuff on Steam i had uploaded but was able to get my account back and originally wanted to delete it before.
I mean i could still have created a new account so that would not make a difference i think.

Also i saw your video about the game you make and have read you probably won't do much in UE3 anymore.
I hope you don't go from VCD.
I mean i remember you still had this one map you needed to finish.
Lol how could I leave VCD I been here since day 1 in 2013 and besides VCD2 will be on ue5 (not sure which version) while i go mess about n have a party in UE5.5 in my 1st week of it (lots done since that video ya saw as that was only day 3) then I guess if VCD 2 gets steam workshop support then I should have enough Knowledge of UE5 by the time that gets a demo to be able to make mods/maps for VCD 2 esp with the new blueprint system as no more kismet = if a workshop for that happens while I can still mod VCD1 too while I go make my own game too:)
fun stuff the best of both worlds=maybe 3 worlds if VCD2 gets a steam workshop
4 worlds if POOLS gets a workshop too but then that be a crash course/wild guess as ya go in unity while the only way to learn how game engines work is to WING IT

JK has a bunch of unfinished projects on the workshop it be nice to see ya finish a few of those while we still waiting for JK to finish Creepy Circus but he busy with killing floor mapping but did say he will finish Creepy Circus:)

I hope RuneStorm is doing well while devs get tortured by substance painter while giving blender a heart attack and ue5 a brain transplant=lol I CAN FEEL YA PAIN GUYS and yep Blender is crucial to fix all those broken free FAB assets xd
Mixamo is handy but needs updating for UE5.5 but is still useful
Audacity is a must too while all the tools i need to make a game in UE5.5 are free while I skip substance painter cuz ya can paint stuff in Blender:)

my new ue5 game=yeah ya can pickup dead bodies after ya shoot the live ones:)
got a much better gun and a new hold system that also has a collision avoidance system with the gun that works with my hold system
ie=you automaticaly holster ya gun when ya pick stuff up so you cant shoot it when picking it up with left mouse=the same button that shoots the gun

since that last ue5 video ya saw lots has been done n still churning away at it to setup the players core inputs and actions while only 1 button missing from controller input now is the pickup button while i figure out how to add a new enhanced input mapping for the grab blueprint but so far its coming along nicely but slow while i teach myself how=keeps ya brain alive xd and besides I don't think I ever be able to tackle UE5 without having tortured the VCD1 level editor for a decade of unreal experience to transfer what I know to UE5 n man is the engine very different than ye olde UE3/UDK that still has the same old engine bugs in UE5=lmfao
but hey I wouldn't be in UE5.5 If RuneStorm never had a VCD1 steam workshop so massive thanks to RuneStorm=you guys are legends but also great teachers:)

while i still haven't spent a penny on the epic store or FAB cuz that's free while ya go hoard free promotions the same way ya hoard weekly free games so yeah it cost nothing to make a ue5 game=so far on windows 11 after Microsoft BRICKED windows 10 a few days ago:)

also been testing a few unreleased ue5 games for other devs too=loads of fun and my name in the credits too while also helping out the POOLS devs vs unity=even my cat is lore and im in the credits for that too

Steam is a fun place to be in 2025 while maybe if i do finish making my own ue5 game then i wont have 85 cents to my name as sick of being broke lol:)

but why i go for it in UE5=
when ya got 13 devs saying the stuff i make in VCD is awesome while they all hounding me to install UE5 to make my own game=how could I resist they were right=lets gooooo n share my contraptions with em while they help me out too so then we can fix each others bugs in many games some of which are unreleased/coming soon while I am having a blast with super duper early access with a few of em:)

one thing for sure is it is loads of fun to play unreleased steam games and help other devs fix da bugs before release day=hell yeah

lol i hope i get a vcd2 beta n if i did get it then i wont say nothing about it:)

lol if that mod works put it on the workshop but man thats alot of ini files to rewrite too esp with the vc_providers etc to fully translate the game txt for all the paper notes and PDA's too

it be cool to see this game finally localised for many languages:albedothumbsup:

VCD 2 looks promising and i hope a lot more is possible but i think it depends if VCD 2 lets us modify more as it was before because i think the developers need to implement all that?
UE3 was more mod friendly with it's editor by default.
Not sure how it is in UE5 and workshop support and what is maximally possible.
I hope we get a ton more stuff in VCD 2 to play around with.
Also no to forget they work on another game too lol

Steam a little while ago decided also to delete all my most recent VCD stuff when i uninstalled the game because of Windows reinstall randomly what should not happen and i had no backup of that.
That is annoying because i had reworked the Car Simulator map so you could enter and exit the car.
It was easy to make but annoying still because it took some time to do and a few prototype maps got lost also.

I never worked with Unreal directly but to me it looks more complex as Unity with that blueprint stuff.
For example in Unity you can just write a script, drop it into the editor and add it to a game object.
It for some reason feels much easier but i could be wrong lol
Making a game is also a lot more fun because you can do literally anything there and VCD is really limited.
Well, i can imagine if someone is able to compile a script for VCD a ton more would surely be possible there too because it is possible to expand the default VCDebris stuff just like the developers did.

I also never really did any beta testing besides in one game... and those developers never fixed anything lol

Just to see what happens if someone translates the game because i think it will surely mess with multiplayer.
Like all players then need to have the same mod installed.
I mean, just translating the game alone must take hours if not days.
Wondering how long it took for the developers creating all the interfaces and stuff alone because it is a lot of text (what may explain why the game is only available in English).
