So, windows recognises the controller as an xbox controller, all the inputs work, it works fine on other games, it even worked when I first launched the game today. At first only one of them worked, I was trying to set up splitscreen and the second controller wouldn't work and I couldn't add a second player. So I restarted the game, and now I can't even get one of the controllers to work. For some reason restarting the game has stopped either controller working in any configuration. I can only find one thread about controllers not working from 2016 that suggest deleting the input.ini file, (i couldnt only find defaultinput.ini and udkinput.ini and defaultinputdefaults.ini) and verifying game cache, which didn't work. any suggestions on how to get my controller to work.

Remote Play uses the following ports:

UDP ports 27031 and 27036.
TCP ports 27036 and 27037.

It will fail to connect if this is not done=mobile device will fail to pair with steam too

Google the steam remote play ports
Add both the TCP and UDP ports to firewall rules

Couch coop online is a thing
As long as you own the game any steam freinds can join you for free even if said friend didn't buy or install vcd (only works in splitscreen coop)

controllesrs still work fine so i dont think you have to reinstall vcd

Verify game cache 3534534 times in a row=8-10 files to be validated=still broken

Open viscera folder keep ya saves folder and delete everything else

Now verify game cache=1000+ files to be validated=fixed

Play 64 bit game
32 bit is broken it crash out of video memory error if have a GPU with more than 3gb memory
Log files report incorrect PC specs in 32 bit it logs and 8gb GPU as a 3gb GPU=windows update broke 32 bit vcd in Dec 2015

64 bit game runs fine=logs and 8gb GPU as an 8gb GPU lol

Also make sure to set both the 32 and 64 bit UDK.exe files to run as administrator comparability mode for windows 7

After a reinstall office is bugged and achievements stop working=
Go to office pause game and save it
Use office exit door to return to main menu
Now play a map n office won't crash game at punch out
Permanently disabled steam cloud sync and autosaves then the cloud won't break the game n now ya achievements work too

As for normal full screen multiplayer
Microsoft broke that in 2015 too n set everything to block connection n firewall blocks a port forwarded router

Fix working fine for 9 years strait on every PC and router I try it on if fix Lan fail bug it fix steam server browser not working and it fix empty internet server join list ingame too
(Direct connect doesn't work at all vs google what's my IP you need to create a static ipv4 address in network n sharing centre to fix that for free=don't pay isp for a static IP when windows can do it for free)
Left mouse to host or join a server you don't need direct connect as that fix force game to connect through steam
now if you host a server it will be visible to everyone in the steam server browser(you can't see it) now anyone can join if there is no password=non steam friends can join this server

All features and more including remote play anywhere(vcd works on my mobile phone anywhere via steam link app) that isn't on the steam store page is working fine on my end

can also use bluestacks on a mac n install steam app and the steam link mobile app from android google play store on bluestacks for mac to force windows to mac crossplay using windows as the host server=person with a windows pc is the host=mac player joins windows version of vcd via bluestacks android emulator (only works in splitscreen coop)

got a crappy laptop that doesn't have enough memory to start the game but it can login to steam=can use that to join splitscreen coop in remote play together it doesn't need a gpu


vcd is missing from the games list in remote play on steam link app=manually search the game name to start it with a mobile phone
steam link chucks steam into big picture mode
as long as pc is on n steam is running you can play all ya games on ya phone=ANYWHERE YOU WANT=phone=free steam deck xd vs free wifi say at mcdonalds kfc etc=watch ya mobile data if no free internet while ya play stuff anywhere

i made that fix from an ARMA 3 firewall fix 9 years ago n it still working on win 7 8 8.1 10 and 11 esp since everything else on the steam forums reddit etc DOESN'T WORK AT ALL

if ya use a vpn turn it off while playing vcd in multiplayer unless ya using tungle or evolve as hamachi alternatives

vcd doesn't need a vpn= left mouse to host n join through steam=the safe way

if you join a server from steam server browser and not from the game join list then steam will automatically start the game and automatically join the server for you

have fun yeah its a cow to setup but its the only way to fix what microsoft broke vs windows stupid update

fix what microsoft broke (windows firewall is the root cause of cancer connect attempt) n it works like a charm n there was no tutorial for me so i used my dyslexic damaged brain n fixed it myself 9 years ago=PERMA FIX WORKS FOREVER but both host and client need to fix it in order for it to work so firewall not block the connection when ya go to join each other server

if everyone knew how to fix it then there would be thousands of VCD servers to join instead of 7

the games ports go in ya router and windows firewalll
the steam remoter play ports go in ya firewall they dont have to go in the router

if you have a DODO GO HUB ROUTER it kicks you out as soon as ya login with every single browser==fix works on ISP LOCKED ROUTERS
use internet explorer or do it from your phone in safari or google app etc then it wont kick you out of the router login as soon as ya login to it=sweet now it lets you setup port forwarding

fix fullscreen multiplayer n use kb n mouse
w to walk mouse for everything else n space to jump is all ya need in VCD

hopefully by now ya fixed ya controller and ya fixed multiplayer not working=
