So tips, don't cram them together, having a little gap leaves wiggle room for the physics to do its thing. If your view is being skewed, try changing your fov, a small change may be enough to stop you bumping around.
Also you don't need to stack the crates neatly, barrels must be upright, but crates can just be a big mess.
Last thing I would suggest is to scale your stack, start with the biggest crates on the floor and stack the smaller ones on top.
If all else fails, try changing the physics in the options menu.
You can manipulate the orientation of the crate while holding it by holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse around too.
I'm really glad you finished the level! For me, Unrefinery & the House of Horror DLC were the worst for stacking, I think I saved after placing every box/crate so they wouldn't topple. Unrefinery just has way too many crates!
Check out the wiki if you like: https://viscera-cleanup-detail.fandom.com/wiki/Stacking_Areas, it may have some more advice. Cheers!
hopefully this comes across as funny and not like i'm being a butt hole. i thought of the the floppy disk joke and i couldn't resist running with it.
