Tower of Babel achievement in Santa's Rampage is physically impossible

Why can't this achievement be completed no matter what? The physics makes it impossible to do. No matter what, the tower always collapses when I get towards the top. I'm even using cheats and it's impossible.

It's not impossible, just very difficult. It took me about 20 or 30 attempts, but I did it.

The trick is to be very careful that each stool is aligned nicely with the one below, especially important at the bottom of the stack. And it has to be aligned from all directions - it can be in the centre from where you are, but a long way back or forward. So walking round and checking from another POV is good. Another good thing to do is try and be slightly above where you want the stool, so you're lowering it rather than lifting it.

Also, if you don't know, but you probably do, left clicking while holding an object will straighten it up.

I recommend doing it near the balcony/staircase, next to the Slosh-O-Matic. You need to be centered under the peak of the ceiling, and check that you have a clear shot (no beams in the way) before you start.

You'll also want to save a bunch of packages to stand on as you build higher.

I used this guide from the Santa's Rampage community and it helped me. It takes a few minutes and a couple of tries after seeing the video.

I found that if I kept trying in the same session, I'd get frustrated and end up getting worse and worse. So if this is happening to you I suggest just trying it a couple of times and then going on to something else. And then try it a couple more times a few hours later etc :)

And Toasted Sandvich Maker is so right. The tower is hairpulling if you try over and over unsuccessfully. Be patient with yourself and take your time checking those stool legs out.

I found burning the stools after I finished the blasted thing so so enjoyable. If you have any built up hostility toward them you might want to toss them around and burn them a little too.

I built my tower of 10 stools, (have done it many times), but it still won't give me the achievement! In fact, it is only giving me credit for 5 of the 10 stacked. What am I doing wrong? I earned 3 other achievements right before this one so I know achievements themselves are working in general.

tower of babel is easy
stack them carefully in ghost mode or stack bins to climb to the ceiling:)
verify game cache if acheivement doesnt work!
try 32 bit and 64 bit santa's rampage if acheivements dont fire
32 bit acheivements work fine for me

I tried stacking them in a pyramid style, after failing several times with one straight line and thinking it was the only possible method with VCD's physics.
I ended up getting 10 stools high (then even more), but I never got the acheivement, so I just kind of left it :P

During co-op testing on Friday, we failed oh so many times to build a tower. But we have also certainly managed it many times, and with the merger it is indeed working.
