Office Bob Notes Disappeared from Trunk—Best way to get them back?

Hi folks,
So after I'd gathered the 2 Bob notes from the Office and put them in my trunk, I'd noticed a few levels later they had disappeared from it. (I might have accidentally gotten rid of them with the "killNearestMess" command, I don't remember).

I know I could just reset the Office and get the notes back that way, but I really like my office as it is now, with my various ill-gotten trophies carefully arranged.

What I've thought about doing is making backups of my current save data, resetting the Office, grabbing the notes to stow in my trunk, and then copying my backed up Office save without overwriting the new trunk data. Would this work?

It's possible for you to maybe do the following to get it to work:

(1): Backup the office save
(2): Reset the office
(3): Put the notes you want from the office into the trunk
(4): Start a new easy to clean level like Section 8, clean it and then save it without punching out
(5): Restore your office save data
(6): Load up your save of Section 8
(7): Punch-out
(8): Observe the notes are now in the trunk
(9): Take them out and put them somewhere in your office
(10): Celebrate
