Stealing from small studios is pretty low. They don't have resources to do anything about it and it's simply not worth the money to fight it. Small studios live by the honesty of people who value their games enough to pay for them, many of which are often under-priced for the value they provide.
Wow, thank you for replying!
This, almost ver batum, is my reasoning for asking. I stand firm behind the "pirate before you buy it" mentality (unless there's a good demo of course). Frankly, with the advent of Steam, piracy isn't as good these days. For example, in the film industry, you're basiacally stuck buying things from a million different retailers (VUDU, Fandango, Apple TV, etc.). I refuse to buy them because it's just a better experience to pirate them and drop them on my 1 TB HDD. With Steam, they somehow made an actually a better experience buying the game than it is to download from Skidrow. I used to pirate games exclusively but now, I'm actually seeking out a ton of my old games and buying them one by one. The last game I'm missing before I can sign off Steam for good is Botanicula.
