A couple of things...
I believe the grab reach is to far.

Curious has to no crouch control?

How to reach high places successfully?

Most maps have a portable lift that you can use to get to high, hard to reach places. Meanwhile, Gravity Drive and Zero-G Therapy have gravity controls to turn off gravity. Which that allows you to reach hard to reach spots.

A high place is on a wall in Anthena. No lift or gravity control?

There is one. Believe me, I've found and used it. Every level that has hard to reach messes will have a portable lift or gravity controls.

Added: It's in plain sight too. When you spawn in, walk forward and it's slightly to the right against the wall. XD

Y'know, the game didn't always have gadgets like the J-HARM (the lift), back in the day the only way to get up there was make a stairway of boxes/barrels to climb your way up there to mop/fix it.

But yeah, expect there to be a means (like the lift, gravity controls, etc) to deal with high-up messes. Otherwise, the old trusty method of standing on, or even making a staircase out of boxes/barrels will get you close enough to high messes, too.

When playing online, it's also possible to carry someone up higher by lifting the box/barrel they're standing on (you can't lift the items you're standing on, but there's no such restriction when lifting someone up this way. Heck, 2 players could hold the box the other player is standing on and just fly up into the sky by lifting eachother).

Edit: And yeah, no crouching. But no worries, maps are generally designed not to need it. The grab range is long, but better too long then too short if you ask me. Especially since you can't crouch it comes in handy.

still in Athena's wrath the lift doesn't go high enough if ya set fire to the ceiling with the skylights via using the welder
build a box ladder with boxes on top of the lift too to reach it
or just avoid welding the main ceiling so ya don't have to clean the roof in there
but there are bullet holes on the ceiling easy to reach with the scissorlift:)

before the j-harm was added oh the painful memories:)
j-harm bugs after addition was quite funny though:)
said bugs got fixed years ago:)

I would never trust the lift with anything but myself on it. Nor would I ever trust the crates in this game with how quirky the physics can be.
