What counts as rubbish?
Is there a list somewhere of the stuff I DON'T have to incinerate? I'm thinking steel panels, boxes, drums etc.

Aye, you don't need to burn panels, boxes or drums. Also not wet floor signs.
Basically anything that doesn't show up on the Sniffer can usually be left.

You can try checking the Wiki for more info: http://viscera-cleanup-detail.wikia.com/wiki/Viscera_Cleanup_Detail
Don't recall if that had such a list, but it may.

Also, is there any point at all to the slippery floor signs? Should I be incinerating them or leaving them out once I've cleaned?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I work backwards now, stack everything together that doesn't look like rubbish and keep it until the end.

If you don't complete the level you can then incinerate it, you can't get back things you have already destroyed without restarting.

Which after hours of cleaning you don't really want to.

Here you go: https://viscera-cleanup-detail.wikia.com/wiki/Sniffer

That page lists what the Sniffer detects, which counts as trash. Having pics of trash items may help better, but it's still a good start.

This is what y'all are looking for: http://viscera-cleanup-detail.wikia.com/wiki/Trash
It hasn't been updated for v1.1 yet, but, you know, I spent HOURS compiling the page for v1.092, so.... O_O

The Sniffer only detects tainted buckets in blue mode. As for guns (blue lightning or regular ones), the Sniffer does detect them.

why does clean buckets and bins and blue lightning gun count against my total score=burn em esp buckets=no worker married bucket or worker kicks the bucket note in office at punchout
sniffer cant smell those 3 items if they are clean yet if left in the map you lose points

I suppose it's the same thing as leaving the incinerator door's open, planters without plants, barrels in hazardous position, etc...
