Report a translation problem
Crates do not need to be upright, but barrels do. Everything that's cube shaped is a crate, but if you're not sure, toss it in the stacking area anyway.
Crates are marked in game to be stacked upright for a full bonus but only the barrels will give you a bad note in the office if they're left tipped over.
In Robotics or Frostbite, you can do whatever you want with them, the game doesn't care. In Uprinsing, you lose the bonus points you might have got. No penalty.
Edit: So, if you stack half then you get half the bonus points you would have got. But only in Uprinsing. (By the way, when I stacked the boxes in Uprinsing, I went from 118% complete to 119% complete, so it doesn't make much of a difference anyway).
