Constant demotions
What gives? Do you have to score 100% to get anything other than demoted? Twice now I have hit 90% and still get demoted. The worse part is, I can't figure out what I'm missing. The radar doesn't even find anything.

100% normally involves, fully cleaning the level of trash/viscera, blood/other moppables. Refilling any medkits, or in some maps a "special" event such as planting new seeds or replacing sentry turrets. Even if you don't stack barrels/crates for the bonus, you want to make sure they're upright at least. Also Closing the furnace before clocking out.
To go beyond 100% you need to stack the crates/barrels in the marked stacking zones, collect all the pids and fill in the death reports for each, do the paperwork for the level ( shells on site, what was in the level, aliens, guns etc)
hope that helps a bit

I'd imagine you'd have to score like 95-99% or so to get a 'decent' but not employee-of-the-month-worthy rating, the game is rather harsh like that, i suppose. That said, being 'demoted' doesn't really seem to do a whole lot, as far as i remember.

Maybe the radar/sniffer did find something but the beep seemed low enough for you to assume it was nothing, takes some time until you know what the lowest beep it makes sounds like. And the notes randomly pinned around your office after clocking out will always accurately try to describe what kind of thing you missed, if you only made a few mistakes.

If you're aiming for a 100%+ then stacking some of the boxes and barrels in their zones is a good idea, since even if you make a mistake, you'll probably still stay over 100% score. Easiest thing to do for a little bit extra score, if paperwork's too boring.
But to add to what he said, to fill out a death report, take the dead guy's PID (it should have his name on it when picked up) press it against the punch-out machine to have it take it, then choose to fill out the paperwork (you can do so without punching out) and just scroll down until you find the death reports on the bottom. Just in case you didn't know (the game kinda lacks a tutorial).

Read the notes! Read the notes!

Also, you can savescum by saving the game just before clocking out and reloading the save once you've... read the notes!

And don't forget the sniffer (MuckGyver) has two modes; one for blood and guts, one for bullet holes, trash and other debris.

Holy crap! There's notes, paperwork on dead bodies and placing things in proper zones?!?! I had no idea any of that existed. I thought the office was just part of the gag and didn't actually have any purpose. I shall commence to clean more properly at once!

also if want to know how everything works in vcd and why its a good idea to start the game
in the main menu is a wikia link=click the link
wikia is a massive instruction manual for vcd
after ya get the hang of it then getting employee of the month on every map is actually pretty easy
also heres a cheat so ya never get fired if ya clean each map properly=
copy the saves folder to desktop
if ya get fired use the desktop copy to overwrite the original copy
if ya get employee of the month ocopy the saves folder and update the desktop copy
in the saves folder is also backup saves but ya have to rename those for them to load
its easier to just copy n paste saves to cheat the office=will never lose your secret stash cheat:)
its also good for multiplayer=
if your office gets trashed you will allways have a backup office save:albedothumbsup:
so yeah good idea to read the wikia:)
i clean every map with eotm i only stack all the barrels leave the pids on the floor and still get 100+%
so once ya get used to what has to be done then its easy to get promoted:)
dont forget in cryogenisis for each little barrel (nitrogen) you dont stack in the stacking areas there is a penalty for not stacking them:)
also a good idea to save a map at the start halfway through and at the end just before punchout
