Follow this tips:
- Clean part by part, not all at the same time. (It will become veeeeery boring and repetitive). In case there is rooms, clean one by one.
- Throw entire corpses to the incinerator first. Burn the big parts first, and then small pieces like arms, legs or small garbage collecting them in the yellow boxes.
- When you have a part of the map without "solid things", then you can start mopping.
- Always carry two buckets at once. I discovered that you can introduce a bucket into another one without letting the water fall. At first it can be hard but you will be twice as fast. (If you are a hard-core gamer you can try 3 buckets at once, but it can fall more easily.).
- Watch the step. When you activate footprints on a game and walk over a blood covered zone, you're going to start leaving footprints that you have to mop.
- There is a broom almost in every map. It is used to sweep little things like bullets. To be honest, I don't usually use it.
- Next to the corpses there will be little USBs with names on it. Don't burn them. Carry them to the machine you use when you finish a level. I dont know what is that for but I thing there is an achievement or something for that. You can use an empty bucket to carry them faster.
- On large maps, there will be a plasma gun. It's the most badass tool of the game. You can use it to cover holes in the walls and burn things to make them smaller and easier to carry trough your game.
- You can die. It is hard to die but you can. It happens when you fall into the monster (i'm pretty sure it only appears on one map) or you are close to exploding dynamite (yes there is dynamite)
- By pressing "3" you get a machine that detects organic or inorganic things. Use it when you finish a map and you want to get the 99 or 100%.
- On large maps you can usually find a vending machine that drops free lanterns, med-kits, and usefull things you can put on certain places.
- Use that lanterns when you can't see. Humans don't usually see in the dark like cats.
- Complete games. The only way to learn in this game is by playing it.
- Play short maps first, to get used to the job.
- There is a TON of easter eggs and secrets on this game. You can watch guides if you want to find them all.
I think there's nothing left, let me know if you have any trouble. Add me if you want to play coop :D
GLAD TO HELP!!!!!
Wow that's big useful list :D I don't think I ever tried carrying more than 1 bucket of water at a time, or if I did, then it's because the water fell out & I had to carry many buckets to the furnace. I can't remember, but I think at one point I was collecting the usbs into my persnal chest (the huge blue chest in levels) or I was collecting them in a bucket. But I think I had burnt them because I forgot what bucket they were in. I honestly can't remember about the usbs. I've watch youtubers play this so I've seen some of the dangers in the game. But a monster?! Is that why it's on a time limit to clean the areas? You know, the brief you get when you start a level says you have (number) of hours to clean or something like that. If the player goes over the time limit will a monster come to kill him/her? Geez, that'd be cruel. There's a lantern machine in the Waste Disposal, it's next to the dirty water. I'm curious why did you mention "humans don't usually see in the dark like cats"? Is it because of my profile picture?
Thanks for the list, it'll surely help me next time I play :D

Good map with a tutorial feel to it.
by the monster, i mean this http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/viscera-cleanup-detail/images/9/90/Unearthly_Excavation_Stair_Room.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150228014153 it is only on the map unearthly excavation. its a monster you have to "kill" by filling it with sand using a shovel. the cats thing: it was just a joke LMAO haha
edit: btw im spanish so you may find some gramatical errors on the text. sorry about that :P
Thanks :D I think I'll check it out.
Geez that is a monster! I'd be scared to be around it. Okay, so in that map if you fall in the mouth, you'll die. I thought there was a secret monster that if you didn't get the level cleaned in time, it would come out of nowhere & kill you as punishment.I'm sure it'll be a LONG time before I get to this monster room. XD Nice joke. I'm sorry I didn't get the joke at first, lol it's hard for me to read & understand if it's a joke or not, cause there's no sound to written words so I didn't get the joking. I thought you gotten that impression from my profile picture lol. My profile picture kinda looks like a cat, but it's not it's my alicorn snuggling a Freddle :D
Oh, cool :D It's alright lol. If I don't understand I'll ask. :) It'll be fine :)
Dirty buckets can be used to carry other stuff. They're great for shell casings and small bits of viscera, even a severed limb or two. Use this to your advantage: If you're headed to the incinerator to dispose of a bucket, you may as well take a bunch of other stuff with you.
I prefer to mop the blood up before touching any of the other stuff. You can usually mop up stains under corpses by aiming nearby with the mop rater than directly on it.
If using the yellow bins, fill them with heavy items first. That means larger limbs, torsos and big hunks of flesh first. Filling a bin with ligtht stuff (paper, soda cans etc) and putting a torso on top will result in a LOT of sadness.
Paper trash (cups, chinese food containers, crumpled paper, crisps packets) can be burned easily with the laser welder, leaving only a small soot mark. it's often easier to burn these where they are found rather than gather them up and take them to the incinerator. Fill a yellow bin with these items and shoot the laser straight down into it (short bursts!) to burn all the trash without leaving any soot.
"Cook" large bits of flesh with the laser, which reduces their size and converts them to charred balls which do not create more stains if you drop them. This also converts ragdoll items like legs and arms into compact balls making them fit much nicer in the bins. (You can further reduce the balls to smaller balls, then to nothingness, but it's too time consuming IMHO)
Work section by section, as mentioned, to reduce the chance that you'll miss something. Try to 100% a room so you never have to backtrack until the final sniff test.
Try never to walk around empty-handed. Always be carrying a bucket, or bin, or something.
The broom is useless, IMHO.
Don't get the lanterns wet.
Learn to throw things.
Stacking boxes is sometimes faster and easier than using the portable lift thing.
Don't reload the gun turrents in Revolutionary Robotics until you are 100% done with everything else.
Burning the laser welder, or stealing it (by putting it in thye blue trunk) hurts your score.
Stacking barrels, crates and other items in their designated areas (if there is an area) earens bonus points. The bonus points will offset some mistakes/missed stuff but can also push your score over 100%. Not all levels have the same amount/opportunity for bonus stacking. In the case of multiple stacking areas for the same item, match the colors.
NOT stacking will not count against you. Burning everything will not count agaisnt you (except the laser, see above)
If a barrel is not standing upright - leaning, on its side or upside-down - it WILL count against you, even if it's inside the designated stacking area.
Buckets and bins left in the level count against you, even if they're perfectly clean.
Once you check out, you will be put back in the office. Posted around the office there will be notes from the inspection agency and your boss regarding how well you did. Depending on the outcome, there may be other notes as well.
Anything you missed will cause a newspaper article to appear in your office when you clock out. Each article gives a clue to the KIND of thing you missed, but not the quantity. For example, if you forgot a bucket somewhere you may get an article about a controversy over someone marrying it, or someone smuggling drugs in an unfixed bullet hole, or someone getting sick after they mistook a blood stain for ketchup.
You can save-scum by saving the level just before clocking out, then reloading that save after checking your score (and reading the notes, if any).
Spoiler-ish tip for getting the office "Clean Freak" acheivement: When cleaning your office, you'll find two items that count as trash but you'll want to keep. Put them in your trunk and take them to any level, and save your game. After you get the acheivement, reload that save and finish th elevel as normal, and you'll go back to the office with the items still in your trunk.
Thanks for the tips :D maybe mopping the stains on the floor as I move around might be useful thing to try. I had found a long gun I can use in the level. I'm not sure it's purpose tho, meaning I'm not sure what it's used to clean. So I barely used it and tried to tuck it in my personal chest so I could keep it, since I couldn't have 3 tools on me at the same time.
But it's been forever. I might restart or reset the level & try tips out.
I used to feel that way, until I discovered the laser can reduce any organic material - corpses, limbs, tentacles - down to a charred ball of carbonized goo. A ball of carbonized goo that rolls...
Think ice hockey: you don't steer a puck with the stick at full extension. Stand right above the goo balls, and hit them with short, swift jabs.
i also tried that, but when its only one piece it's faster to do it by carrying on hands and when they are many pieces its better to carry them in boxes. viscera cleanup detail its a game you can play in A LOT of different ways
That sounds like great fun :D I'm excited to get to use the laser.
Yeah, I was hoping to get tips on how others go about cleaning in this game, lol, cause I can barely make progress to even finish one level XD
Next time I get in the game, I'll learn my buttons so I could probably try out the throwing tip.
