Can't download any map from workshop
Ok, so, today I installed VCD. I had it installed some time ago and everything was fine, but now I can't download any map. I know about that blue button, it still says that it's busy.

Tried restarting Windows - nothing.
Tried Verifying Cache - nothing
Tried launching UDK.exe as administrator - nothing.
Tried unsubscribing newer maps that I didn't have before - nothing.
Tried Steam Beta - nothing.
Wanted to delete file called "RUSTMods.cfg" or "RUSTDownloads.cfg" - there is no file like these.

Can someone help me? I really want to play community maps.

Well, weird thing happened - I set in compatibility properties of RUSTClientProcess.exe to launch as Administrator, and downloading worked! It wasn't in any thread, so I thought this won't work...

yep same here
theres a bug with the steam play button nothing downloads if i use the play button it stuck on detecting changes forever
i run udk.exe as admin then workshop downloads and installs all maps just fine
it also fixed my xbox controller along with multiplayer steam server browser
also left a post about this issue on the dev thread:)
for now i dont use the play button
im using steam beta its more stable than normal steam is
im hoping that in the future i can make some new maps when i get a new pc or new video card:)

I also run UDK.exe as admin. I think it's not a problem with the game, but with RUSTClientProcess.exe. Now it's stuck at detecting changes, no matter where I launch. These maps which I downloaded when it worked aren't also loaded into game, but in RUSTDownloads folder.

I think there should be an alternative source for downloading maps, like csbanana or ModDB.

One thing i can't understand - process RUSTClientProcess launched by game uses 0 or 1% of processor, usually 0. Process launched manually by using exe file uses 30-50% (it doesn't even download maps, so, what does it do?).

do you have windows 10?
is so run udk.exe as admin and set compatabillity mode to win 7
do same for rust.exe
still not installing
go in rust downloads folder
open one of the zip files with winzip or winrar or 7z
ini file goes in udkgame\config
int file goes in udkgame\content\mods\localization\INT folder
if the mod has a folder with udk or upk file in it put that folder in the udkgame\content\mods folder
carthiefs maps dont have a map folder just put his udk file in that mods folder
thats how to manually install maps if the zip file is in rustdownloads folder
usually if manually unpack one mod start the game it fix itself

also make sure the steam icon in the main menu is enabled
workshop download may or may not work on win 10
its hit and miss as vcd not fully compatible with win 10 although it works fine for most win 10 users

start steam go in viscera binaries folder and run udk.exe as admin to bypass the play button
if your pc can run 64 bit exe try that one
for me i use the 32 bit exe and mods install instead of getting stuck

if have mac vcd then cant play any workshop map on mac
if i ever run out of workshop cloud space i might use nexus as an alternative download
i only use steam toprevent those with pirate vcd from downloading my maps

We're busy working on some fixes for the workshop system. Not sure exactly how it'll change for the user just yet; visually, etc.

RUSTClientProcess.exe is used to facilitate the downloading and installing of workshop content, as we cannot use the main UDK.exe for this.

Thanks, unpacking helped.

I read something about workshop issues, so I hope this will be fixed. :)

i'm wondering if in the latest update the developers accidentally uploaded the osx version and now everyone has it and that's why the workshop isn't working.
kstokes_uk 11 maj, 2017 @ 12:24
I have a problem that every time I start my pc and the steam client starts it adds a workshop content to be downloaded but it never downloads anything. I don't know which workshop content it is trying to download all I know is that it says downloaded 0kb of 0kb. To get rid of it I have to pause the download and wait around 10 minutes before it stops so I can remove it from the download list. This happens every time I start the steam client. It only started a few days ago and I have not subscribed to any new mod files for months.

ok i unsubbed to all the maps but one and downloads started working again, something tells me having all the maps subbed is the problem the client just can't hadle too many changes to the maps to update.
A JANITOR 13 maj, 2017 @ 17:12
all maps download fine exept for my e1m2 map the all collectables map and one of cannofodders maps for me
i bypass the play button as the play button is buggy=nothing downloads if i use the play button
the fix=
run udk.exe as admin open steam 1st then i can download and install those maps or any map:)
haribi 14 maj, 2017 @ 2:30
In my case, it doesn't matter where I launch (last time I launched with Play button, and it downloaded maps fine). I have now Linux, so I can't check which maps bug the downloader. (I had Windows 7, so I think the OS matters for downloading maps).
