FATE
What was I hoping for when I first read about the “Reawakening” coming?
1) Let’s start with THE ONE change that most, if not all, fans of this series were hoping for: CREATE A MULTIPLAYER OPTION!

2) I wanted what was done for the “Bard’s Tales” series, “retrofitting” the first 3 installments in order to make the game play for them identical to “The Cursed King.”

_a. Making all of the races available as playable characters in available in all 3. While “The Cursed King” allows you to choose between 5 different races for your different character and 7 different creatures for your pet, “The Traitor’s Soul” only allows you to choose between 4 of each. In the 1st two, you’re given no choice for your character and are only allowed to choose between a cat or a dog for your pet.

Right now, I’m building a team of 4 characters to use in “The Cursed King.” For me to create one which has a member of all 4 of the races available in “The Traitor’s Soul,” while giving each of them an equal opportunity to be developed, I skip playing the 1st two installments. You might almost be able to call the Steam’s version of this 3rd installment a 3-in-1 because it allows you to go back and forth through the “Town of Grove” portal so you complete all of the dungeon levels; but it’s not entire so because doesn’t give you to defeat the master quest. Therefore, making this “retrofitting” of the 1st three installments to make these options identical to the last would give me the ability to enjoy the full gaming experience that was originally intended while building my team of 4.

_b. Make earrings part of the equipment you use in the 1st two installments.

_c. Give the pet the load carrying capacity in the 1st two installments that they have in the last two.

_d. Making all spells available in all 4 installments might “break the game;” but having it as on option that can be turned off should be considered. Its also the only way to make a multiplayer option available for all of the installments.

3) Changes made to the teams:

_a. Make the maximum team size 5, so you can have 1 of each creature.

_b. Just let the player start “The Cursed King” with a full team from the startup page without having to purchase the services of the remaining team members.

_c. Providing this team option for all 4 installments might also “break the game; but having it as an option that players are allowed to use if they wish could be an option that would be left up to them.

4) Changes to Spells:

_a. Allow players to acquire all of the spells, instead of only allowing players to keep 6 of each of the spell types and requiring them to delete one spell to make room for another that just became available.

_b. Increase the number of spells that can be “hot keyed” by allowing players to combine them with the “Shift,” “CTRL,” “FN” & “ALT” keys in order to give them 5 times more hot key option. Of course, this would give them insanely more options than they could manage; but let each player decide just how they can manage.

Seriously. No. No. No, etc., on almost every item you listed. I was not looking for any of that. I wouldn't want the original character of the games to be changed like that at all. I'm especially fond of the first game for it's quaint simplicity.

The only thing I would agree to is increased inventory space for the character and pet. Otherwise, yuck! I'm so glad they didn't do any of the rest of the stuff you listed.

It would all be one big, very boring game with all of that stuff. It's the gradual changes that expanded the game, from one version of the game to the next, that I find quite special. I'm sorry if you were expecting all of that stuff that would profoundly change the character of the games.

I can understand people wanting the multiplayer, but I am not interested in multiplayer on any game, so I won't be missing that, either.

And I've been playing the game since long before I joined Steam and put thousands of hours into it for years.

1) I’ve read other people on this board suggest the idea of multiplayer prior to this, so just because you don’t like something, that doesn't mean that your opinion represents the majority viewpoint because I’m quite confident that it doesn’t. Nevertheless, I’ll acknowledge that when describing the idea of a multiplayer game, I’m pretty sure that they’re envisioning a 5th installment that would be a sequel to “The Cursed King.” The idea of making all of the games multiplayer is an idea I came up with myself.

2) If you’re familiar with the Remastered Bard’s Tales that I referenced; you will see that all of the changes that it offers are optional and that you can play all of the games exactly the way they were when they came out. I suggested this feature being offered as well so people like you can play the original Fate the way you want, and people like me can play it the way we want.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have important real-world issues that actually matter that will make it impossible to carry on with a selfish, self-centered jerk that thinks that anyone who has a different opinion than them is an idiot. So, feel free to post whatever you want has I’ll be too busy doing things that actually matter to read it, let alone respond to it.

I already said I can understand why some people would want multi-player.

I don't care about any other game. For this game, I prefer them to keep the original flavor.

I did not call you an idiot. I'm sorry you took my comments as inferring that. I was not intending anything of the sort. I just made it clear that I would have hated it if they had made all of those changes.
