Fate has stopped working issue

basically i started a game got 15 mins in then saved and then it said not working and every time i reboot it says not working im wondering if its a corrupted save how to sort this?

I played for 64minutes then i saved and then it kept crashing in the loading screen... uninstalled 4 times nothing works -.- its probly a problem with steam / soomething they need to fix...
just wannna play the game -.-

I am also suffering from this issue, the game gets about 1/2 of the loading bar then the game crashes and reveals a black box covering the top left portion of the screen whilst windows says its trying to trying to identify the error but it doesn't.

I'm having the same problem, unfortunately :(

For people with Windows 7 play with windows 98 compatibility, it works... but still have some troubles with sound... some echoes!

Go to the folder FATE in your steam\steamapp\common folder then right click on FATE.exe and go to Compatibility Tab and choose Windows 98 ( i can't succeed to play with Windows Xp compatibility) then you can add play with administrator rights... not sure it's necessary

i was able to follow you till "then right click on FATE.exe"
to find FATE.exe i had to click FATE in the common folder then at the bottom i found fate.exe
and i tryed right clicking and didnt find a "compatibility tab" :S

Yes sorry! Once you've found FATE.exe, make a right click on it and then go to "Properties" menu , click on it then you'ld see "Compatibility" tab ! :)

When i look at the crash log, it seems that ntdll.dll is incompatible with this version of Fate... I have a W7 64bits, Is people on 32bits gave same problem ?

hey i cant find fate exe where to find it i followed exactly but i cant find a fate.exe

I'm having the same problem too and reading up on it, it looks like the Steam version of Fate is just the Wild Tangent build of the game without the DRM or other WT features, and unfortunately, the WT build of fate is not compatable with Windows 8. Initially I thought it was tied to the resolution of the game as I had some luck in changing the cfg files to run the game in windowed in a lower resolution, but even that no longer works. No matter what compatability I set the game for or what resolution (even fullscreen 640x480) the game will not load. I even deleted my save game (I only played for about 10 minutes) thinking it might be tied to the saves, and now the game still doesn't load. Apparently WildTangent has never addressed this despite the loads of complaints about it. Which I had known that before buying it. So, mehtinks the Steam version is a dud for anyone with Windows 8+.

So basically guys we need to ask for a refund from steam. How do we go about doing this?

Game is crashing on load screen for me as well. Running Win 7 64 bit. APPCRASH happening when loading progress bar gets about 3/4 of the way. I was able to play for ~3 hours and load up saved games during that time, then all of a sudden the crashes starting happing when I tried the last time to load a saved game.
