Fate Expansions -- A Balanced Mod
Have you ever wanted more FATE? I don't mean the sequel games, since you'll have to pay for those, and you might not think it's worth the money. I mean the original game, just with more variety. Because that's what this mod will give you. In essence, you'll be getting FATE: Traitor Soul amount of content for free.
[Note: This works with ALL versions of the original FATE; Steam, GOG, old school CD from 2004, you name it!]

New questing dialogue
NPCs will now witness the imminent bane of saying "I'd sure sleep better if that nocturne stalker wasn't around!" Multitudes of hand-made, interesting, and funny dialogue pieces; including missing chocolate pies, crushes on Dreya the Healer, debts to other NPCs, and more, will entertain you throughout your hero's life. Of course, the NPCs will still have you beating the life out of monsters 80% of the time.

New name generation
Getting kind of bored of fighting Axebiter the Cursed every other day? With over 1.2 million new name combinations, you'll never meet the same boss twice. You'll also get more interesting names on enchanted gear as well. With luck, you might even come across a few Easter egg names...

New gems
New gems, taken from future instalments of the FATE series, will now allow you to boost your skills in every single area of play. There's a gem for every enchantment you can get, including the weapon skills. Also, a new class the "divine" gem class, although rare to come by is more potent than even the flawless class.

New items
These items, from future FATE games, will give you much more varied loot, including earrings (worn in the ring slot), armour pieces like you've never seen, and beautiful weapons with which to render your opponents helpless. You'll also come across many amazing new artifacts that can be used to your advantage.

New Dungeons
From future FATE games comes a change of scenery that will do any avid FATE player good, while exploring over 30 new dungeon styles including abandoned factories, giant beehives, ancient pyramids, and subterranean palaces, each with their own visual props and sound effects.

New Monsters
Hah, We all wish it were the case. But my programming/modding skills weren't capable of incorporating monsters from future FATE games into the original. Hopefully what you've seen above will be enough to inspire you to get this mod.

To install the mod, follow these instructions:

Download the mod from the following link.

Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/fate/mods/6/

(You may need to copy and paste the link into your address bar.)

Copy the .rar file to your fate game directory (Steam/Steamapps/common/FATE)

Extract the .rar file there. (right click and select "extract here").
Note that you'll need winRAR or some other compression program to extract the file.

If asked to replace or merge files and folders, hit yes.

Start the game, and enjoy the mod!

Recommended advice:

If you aren't sure you'll like this mod or you think it may corrupt your game, make
a backup copy of the FATE folder before modifying anything.

If you plan on importing your charachter into a future FATE game, make sure there are
NO modded items in inventory or pets inventory. The future game will not know what
items are being referenced and will crash.

If you're not sure the mod is working, go to Jin the seer. She will now sell earrings etc.
Also quest givers will start spouting interesting dialogue...

Questions, compliments, bug reports? Post below. I'll hopefully get back to you within 2 days.

Is this mod good for a first playthrough does it just add "more" or is it more radical and is best left for replays?
This is mod is totally fine for a first playthrough! It doesn't radically change gameplay but adds more content. I'd in fact reccomend it especially for first playthroughs. As you can see in my feature list of the mod, everything has been balanced and tailored professionally by wildtangent themselves!

Any clue if this'll work on the Wild tangent version of the game it just has to have all the same folders and such if it will most likely right?

I actually recently discovered an old copy of the game on a CD-ROM

I tested and made the mod with the steam version. There could be a few hiccups, although mainly the only thing that changed was the save locations between the old version and the steam version.
However, it's possible that newer versions also used different directory paths for various contents in-game, which could cause greater problems...

Question - is this mod similar or based on Xmod?

Question - is this mod similar or based on Xmod?
It's a completely separate endeavour, inspired by the drive to add more content to the original FATE game.
[Xmod is a system that allows more free camera expression, tweaking enchant possibilities and fishing results, and adjusting spawn rates in dungeons. It offers more customization, while 'Fate Expansions' adds more raw content.]
They should be compatible, if that was your next question. First, install FATE with the Xmod setup, load it maybe to test if it is working, and then install 'Fate Expansions'. Since Xmod doesn't add to or adjust the resources that my mod affects, there should be no conflicting.

Thanks for your interest, I hope "Fate Expansions" is what you're looking for!

I'm using Fate Expansions right now and I was wondering if these mods can be used together.
Great mod, btw.

I'm glad you enjoy my mod! If you come across others looking for a comprehensive mod that adds more realistically balanced content to FATE, send them to "Fate Expansions"!

Sadly I can't install Xmod because it doesn't work on Steam version. So, I'm going to use only your mod.

It always cracked me up when Gimbo Tell announced that he couldn't sleep at night.

I installed the mod mid-game and works perfectly (so far) on my WildTangent version, Windows 10. It's so FABULOUS. Over the years I've played dozens of characters. My first quest was for an Intellect Devourer that I was certain was devouring *my* intellect--I couldn't keep away.

The sequels were engaging, but never captured my imagination as did the original Fate. Excuse my enthusiasm, but you have poured new life into an old favorite in a respectful and UTTERLY DELIGHTFUL way. My intellect is about to be devoured again, I fear.

That said, I did notice a misspelling in my very first modded quest. It should be 'archaeological' instead of 'archealogical'. Pls contact me offline for an editorial proposition.
